An Ambush.

You step into the clearing, it seems to be just latex grass everywhere with no other features around. You walk out into the center of the clearing and apart from the bushes and trees at the edges and the grass under your feet there's barely anything at all.

You hear a noise, very similar to rustling leaves behind you.

The hairs on the back of your neck rise up as you slowly turn to look at whats making the noise.

"What the fuck.." you mumble as you see it.

It's a very unusual creature, almost insect like. It has a very low, long and flat body and three pairs of "legs" that expand out horizontally down its sides with a long tentacle coming out from where its head should be.

It doesn't seem segmented at all but looks rather flexible. As you watch it, it's legs are also tentacles its using to propel it forward, its barely lifting itself off the ground at all as it crawls.

As it moves its legs and tongue extend and contract greatly from within its body, anywhere from 30 centimeters to several meters in length.

Despite a lack of eyes.. or any features what so ever, it seems to be heading directly towards you. You take a step back and just before you turn away from it it rears its long tail up at you. It's hollow and dripping with a black fluid.

You run. It came from the path you were on so you desperately look for an escape avenue.

The creature breaks into a run and chases after you.
