Another guest

When you go up to check on the guest in the fourth room, it might be any one of a number of regulars, such as:

Martina is a brilliant scientist who suffered an unexpected side effect due to a radiation experiment. The experiment altered the optical characteristics of her body’s cells such that she became entirely invisible. Whenever she checks into your bed and breakfast, she conceals her invisibility by wearing a long trenchcoat, high boots, a wide-brimmed hat, and a scarf and sunglasses to hide her face. You’re only able to identify her by her relentlessly curious and analytic manner, and her soft German accent.

Alpha, Beta, and Gamma are the names used by three space travelers: Martian women who come to Earth from time to time on what they claim are “scientific” missions. You’re not quite certain why scientists from another planet might want to stay at your bed and breakfast, but they always share a single room and pay cash. The three are identical from head to toe: about five feet tall, with emerald green skin, dark green hair cut very short, round faces, green eyes, and small noses. They speak in calm monotones and seem to act utterly without emotion. In addition, you suspect that they might be able to communicate telepathically with each other.

Siluria is a true marvel - a descendant of a prehistoric race of snake-people. Sometime in the unimaginably distant past, a cataclysmic seismic event caused her to be buried alive, but the unusual chemical properties of the sludge she was buried in actually put her into a state of suspended animation. Many millenia later, the slow geologic processes of the earth eventually brought her to the surface again - in the swamps of present-day Florida. She was an instant media celebrity, and the fact that she had the physique of a supermodel (if you ovelooked the scales) only contributed to her fame. Now she has her own talk show, she’s a world-class surfer, and when she wants some time away from it all, she takes a week off to stay at your bed and breakfast.

Then again, the guest in the fourth room might be someone else entirely.
