Makeup works wonders

"Hey Jim!"

Jim turned his head as he heard his name and spotted a familiar face coming down the sidewalk. It took only a few moments for the two to meet up and Jim, a bit more happy than he would've found himself ordinarily being, gave his friend Tim a warm hug. Tim, for his part, kept the big smile on his face and wrapped his arms around his friend. "Tim! God, it's been what...years? How you been?"

Jim and Tim, the two "ims" of Baker Street, often were one and the same, doing a lot of things together and barely being separate. One of their friends had joked that they should've been twins by the way they carried on, Jim just rolled his eyes and Tim had socked the guy in the stomach at that. It didn't help that the two of them had brown hair while all of the other neighborhood kids had blonde hair, it was just something they couldn't control, and they had bonded through that. Plus, to be honest, it didn't hurt that their mothers were so close growing up. Did guys have "BFFs"? Not that it mattered what they labeled each other, it was pretty much the same thing in practice.

Jim and Tim made their way downtown, both of them chit-chatting away about their jobs, families, and catching up on general gossip. As they sat down in the coffee shop, one run by one of their classmates from school, Tim motioned and went to the restroom. Jim, for his part, thanked the waitress for bringing out their order and then pulled out the questionnaire while he sat and waited.

7.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOU LIKE MAKEUP?

As Jim sat there, Tim came back to the table and after sipping his coffee, glanced over at the questionnaire and smiled a bit. "Bored at work?"

Jim shrugged and then looked up at his friend. "What do you think? Would you like makeup?"

Tim thought for a moment and then looked around at the clientele in the coffee shop. It wasn't filled with young people, their town was pretty laid-back, but there were quite a few women in there and the two looked around for a few moments. "I mean, if the point is to be someone else, what do you think? I mean, can you imagine being Tabitha's sister? I mean, that woman was nice enough but talk about a bore." He pantomimed her lecturing that had the two of them stifling laughing too loudly. "...gosh, no wonder she never really was much of a looker."

Jim nodded and laughed a bit before he picked up his pen. I would love makeup, knowing how to use it since being a young girl with my sister and being adept at applying it in all situations. Jim nodded and then set the pen back down. A few more moments of talking followed the two of them sitting there, Jim pausing to glance at his reflection in the compact before glancing up and seeing Tim doing the same.

Tim nodded and after a few more minutes talking, he glanced at his watch. "Oops, need to get going. Let's meet up later on for dinner? I feel like surprising mom."

Jim nodded, finding it easier to relax being away in the city knowing that at least one of their mother's children were living with her. "Good idea, might as well eat before I get back on the road." With that, the two of them made their way back to the house, Tim going inside to the kitchen while Jim walked back up the stairs to his room and glanced at the questionnaire's next question before he got ready to help downstairs for dinner.
