Take the tour

"These are our labs," Ms. King said. "We have space for many more, but as of now only two are occupied. If you'll look to your left, you will see Ms. Castle's lab." You looked through the large window and into a room that was filled with containers, flasks, burners, and fluids in a wide range of colors, some of which you weren't even sure you had seen before. "Ms. Castle opted to pursue alchemy as her talent. She has proven to be as enthusiastic as she is talented in the field."

"Alchemy? So, like, potions and stuff?" you asked.

"Precisely. Potions, formulas, and arrays. A more scientific approach to the arcane than many would expect. Still, it's opened up many possibilities to us."

You nodded, turning away from the scene. You couldn't really wrap your head around all of that. Yet, at least. You supposed that if you wanted to you could use the coin to come to grips with it and even join this 'Ms. Castle' in that field.

"To the right, you will see Mr. Knight's lab. He opted to pursue the more general field of enchantment. Creating objects similar to the coin that I am offering you. He has more freedom than Ms. Castle does in how he operates, but his breakthroughs have been more... lacking, I suppose, than hers. Still wondrous when compared to the mundane, but nothing like the healing potions that we have produced."

You narrowed your eyes at that. Healing potions? But Ms. King was still wearing those bandages and walking like she was ancient. She turned to look at you and saw you analyzing her. To your (admittedly only mild) surprise, she smirked slightly at you. She probably expected you to put two and two together there.

Still, you turned your attention to the other window and saw the objects that were all over the other occupied lab. Statues, medallions, even whole suits of armor. There was an eclectic collection of items to be sure. And if each of them was enchanted...

"Wow," you said.

"Indeed," Ms. King said. "I hesitate to show you just what these items can do until you sign on but I assure you that each is enchanted and we are rapidly expanding our options and scope."

You nodded, looking between the two labs. "I see."

"And, you are welcome to select either of these two fields or another that seems interesting to you. Spellcrafting, summoning, what have you."

Her words settle deep in you. You could... Shit, you could actually do anything you wanted? "This is..."

"Amazing? World changing? I tend to agree. So, what say you Mr. Bishop?"

You thought for a moment, then gave her your answer.
