You're just heading back to your dorm from a store in the Amenities zone when you see two people coming up the street to the Campus Neighbourhood. That sight makes you think that you were among the first to move into the dorms. And that thought causes a flashback. By the time the Esperanza project sent out the invites you had just finished high school and you were still contemplating whether or where you’d go to college. Obviously you would have to leave the DRC but now you had the option to either go to a Kindred college which would irrevocably mean spending the coming years in an all Kindred environment, or jump aboard the Esperanza project and continue living in an environment similar to the one you grew up in. Well the fact that you are here now answered that dilemma… right.

“Ah, yes the dorms…” you murmur to yourself.

The dorms are the only part of the neighbourhood that isn’t divided into a living quarters inner circle and office accommodations outer circle. Except of course the Agricultural Neighbourhood because the farms have to follow the lay of the land instead of following a circle system. As a matter of fact, all the neighbourhoods you passed on the way here have the same layout. A central park that is surrounded by living accommodations that form an inner ring, and office/business accommodations that form an outer ring. So you assume that all neighbourhoods have thoroughfares on the outside to quickly go from one part of the neighbourhood to another and footpaths through the central park that primarily connect the living quarters of the different zones like your Campus Neighbourhood. But the latter can also be used to get around the neighbourhood if you are not in a hurry to get somewhere. Well you’re sure that at least the Administration Neighbourhood had a similar layout. A visit to the Administration Neighbourhood proved necessary to get you registered as a formal Esperanza Isle inhabitant after completing the enrolling formalities at Esperanza College.

Getting back from the tangent your thoughts led you on you get your mind back to the dorms themselves. So because the DRC was at the forefront of the current developments they got the maiden speech about Esperanza Isle. It's like your back at the DRC and you can still hear the project rep say:

" Considering that the dorms will house Kith as well as Kindred as well as Warrigal the designers of the dorms chose to create three kinds of dorms. The basic layout will still be the same namely a two stories building surrounded by grass with a central entry along one end. And that entry will eventually give out to a central grass field. The building will wrap around the inner grass field. An inner ring of rooms will give out on the inner grass field while an outer ring of rooms will look out to the grass that surrounds the outer walls of the buildings. The rooms however will come in three sizes namely small, medium and large."

As a Fox you are considered medium size so your room is in the medium size dorm. Because the average Kith is also considered medium size your dorm will be a truly mixed environment. The other two kinds of dorms will be predominantly a Kindred and Warrigal mix. The small size dorms will house people like mouse kindred or warrigals and the large size dorms house people like bear warrigal or kindred.

While your feet were on auto-pilot to your dorm you snap out of your thoughts and take a good look at the two people heading your way. Now they have come closer you can make out who they are.

“No … it can’t be …” You say out loud...
