The Catholic Church knew more about the supernatural than they would ever divulge. They had field agents that dealt with those things when the situation called for it. They also kept close tabs on what they called "industries of sin." Industries like booze, cigarettes, and pornography. So it was no wonder that the new international sensation in porn came under their close scrutiny. It was not long before they identified the ring on Katie's finger and an agent was dispatched.

The "Whore Maker" ring, as their translators had named it, was a major demonic artifact. It was supposed to be linked to two other major artifacts, the choker, and the bracelet.
