Chapter 4 by guilty_alibi guilty_alibi

Alea's Reaction:

Oh shit, what appointment!?

Alea: I got home and dropped off my bags by the door, looking toward the phone. I saw the blinking light and ran to the phone, checking my messages and my face froze. The meeting? What meeting...? I didn't think we had arranged anything but maybe I forgot to write it down...

I checked my calendar, it was empty on the day and time we had apparently scheduled but I could be forgetful. I called him back , feeling guilty and awful that I had forgotten the date and swallowed hard, thinking what he could have meant by trailing off like he did... Was he mad? How mad? I didn't want him to stop talking to me because I was an idiot.

It rang through to the voice-mail and I swore softly, making my apologies and promising I wouldn't miss the next time. I asked when he wanted to reschedule and prayed in my mind that he would give me another chance.

I waited expectantly for another 3 days, increasingly worried and began to lose hope when I got another message.

What did it say?
