Pondering the Possibilities

Francis considered what he had in his discovery. With the watch, the whole world was open to him. Women, money, anything was possible. Francis grinned in glee. But where was he to start?

Francis knew he couldn’t just take money out of the pocketbooks of passersby, he wouldn’t be able to earn fast enough. Francis thought quickly. Perhaps he could take the cash from the tills of stores and restaurants? But that would just hurt the employees and the businesses, causing them to close in bankruptcy and severely cramp the lifestyles of people around him.

At last, Francis hit upon an idea. He could stop in a casino and win his money! He would have to be careful, hoping that the casino would never catch on to him winning all the time, but it was feasible, and more fair to the world around him than stealing would be. After all, the casinos raked in tons of cash; they wouldn’t miss a couple thousand, would they?

With a bright smile on his face, Francis sauntered off in the frozen world and disappeared into the local casino, Emilio’s. Several hours later, Francis was back out on the street, tired of reading and switching cards, among other mischievous profiteering activities, several grand in his wallet, wondering what else he could do. The casino manager had been sniffing around him after winning so much, even if most of it was from others in personal games rather than from the house, so he knew that word would get around and Francis wouldn’t be able to enter a casino in the world without being watched.

So Francis needed another way to earn cash. Knowing he would blow through his winnings swiftly, Francis thought hard about what he could do. After some quick thinking and several glances at the attractive women walking about him, one of them a reporter for the five o’clock news, Francis realized he could use the watch to take still shots of the unsuspecting, developing the film for sale or ****, depending on how he felt about the target.
