Pokemon are more important

Figuring that your brand new Pokemon is far more important than hearing some of your mother's old stories you quickly leap out of your seat and dash towards the front door.

Luckily as you step outside you find a nice warm sunny day, so you don't mind missing your jacket for the time being, enjoying the feeling of the sun on the bare skin of your arms. It's almost the perfect start of what you hope will be the perfect Pokemon journey, taking you all the way to the Indigo League and maybe even beyond.

Looking around you spot Professor Oak's lab in the distance and begin to make your way there, but as you walk you feel a strange longing to explore Pallet Town one last time.
