Chapter 4
by whoablabla
What does Marcus choose?
Play it safe.
$20,000 just like magic and having only gotten soaked once? Obviously, it's time to end the game. Marcus jogs over to the massive golden dong hanging on the wall and slaps its nuts hard.
A bell sounds. The crowd roars!
"Amaaaaaazing! We've got a contestant here who really knows how to play it safe! Why, with instincts like that, it's no wonder he's stuck in a Texas shithole working dead-end jobs! You've gotta risk big to win big, son!"
Marcus rolls his eyes and mutters. "Twenty grand feels pretty big to me."
Marcus blinks and finds himself suddenly transported to a small room with three strangely black cards resting on a table before him. He is completely alone, but the announcer's voice seems to fill his head. It whispers seductively.
"Welcome to the third and final round, Marcus. Before you are three cards. You can turn over all of them or none of them or any number of them you choose. On the other side of each of the cards you'll find two scenarios you are **** to choose between. It's a game we like to call Would You Rather!"
Marcus was familiar with the game. He'd played something like it in college, except the scenarios didn't come true. This could be fun. Or, it could go very, very wrong.
"So what do you say, Marcus? Wanna play?"
How many cards does Marcus flip over?

Making Marcus
A Game of Choice and Chance
On his twenty-fifth birthday, Marcus is suddenly presented with the opportunity to engage life in a completely new way. One could say that he becomes awakened to the game of life. What comes next is up to him, but will he be ready for the consequences?
