Pirates!

Katie grabs the "Pirates" DVD and puts it in. You've heard of this film. It's supposedly the most expensive porn ever made... or maybe... you're not sure. But you've heard of it because it's supposed to be like the porn version of a big blockbuster movie.

Katie fiddles with the DVD remote and then gives up. "Oh I can't figure out other people's remotes." She says, tossing it at Karen who almost doesn't catch it. She knows how to operate her remote and plays the movie.

And the three of you sit. It's a bit awkward at first. After all, what do you do when you're sitting watching a porn with your girlfriend and attractive neighbor?

But Karen knows what to do. She comments on the credits as they roll. Jesse Jane, "She's great. She does stuff that can make me jealous." Carmen Luvana "Warren was a huge fan of her fake boobs. We even thought of getting me..." Janine Lindemulder "Oh, well Janine is the best, obviously. I kissed her once."

"Woah! Woah! Stop!" Katie chimes in clearly feeling both tipsy and late night goofy, her exhaustion crossing that line and turning into energy again. You're still processing exactly what it was that Karen said. But Katie doesn't sit on it for a moment. "Pause it. Pause it!" Karen gladly does so. "You kissed a porn star?" Katie seems shocked and delighted. "You have to share that story."

"Well...." Karen blushes confidently. You feel like maybe it's an act. "We didn't like make out or anything, it was just a nice little peck." She glances at Katie and you for a reaction.

And you take your girlfriend's side. "We're still going to need to hear the story." And sip your wine.

Karen sighs loudly as if it's an annoyance to have to tell it. But it's clear that she's putting on a show. "Warren and I were at this adult entertainment convention..." She gives you both a look to see if it shocks you that she's such a big fan of porn that she'd go to a convention.

But to be honest it doesn't. It's not like only perverts go to those things. It's normal people.

So she goes on. "Anyway, Janine was signing autographs and when it was my turn I told her I thought she was the best kisser in the business, which is true. I could watch a movie of her kissing for 2 hours. And she jumped up and planted one on me. Simple as that." She sips her wine. "Didn't go any further. Although I wish it had, who wouldn't?"

You and Katie exchange glances. She smirks. You're not sure she expected your birthday to take this turn, but you certainly didn't. Part of you can't wait to get back home with her, jump into bed and just laugh and declare "That was amazing! Could you believe it?"

But you're not there yet. It's late. But you sense the night is young.
