Who answers the door?

Phoebe (the wife)

A woman opened the door. She was tall and muscular, and very beautiful, and had a telltale ring on her left hand.

"Well, hello there." she said, "I'm Phoebe, and seeing as I've never met you before, could you be the one who just moved in next door?"

"Yes, my name's Jessie Goodman. My husband is Nick, he's still getting everything ready, and I figured I'd come say hi."

"Then I guess I'll be the first to welcome you to Fidelity, Jessie, come on in and have a seat."

She moved out of the way, and Jessie walked in. She led her to the living room. "Sit right there on the couch, dear." Jessie sat. Phoebelooked through a shelf of books for a moment, before pulling one out. "Here it is." she brought it over to Jessie, and sat down next to her. "This little book here is the official history and guide book of Fidelity. The mayor, Jack, gives one to every new family here, so try to act surprised."

"You call the mayor by his first name?"

"Well of course! In fidelity, everyone is friends with everyone else."

She opened the book to a painting of two women, one black and one white. "That woman," she said, pointing at the black one, "Is Fidelity Anna Rose Bunde, the founder of this town."

"And who is she?" Jessie pointed at the other woman.

"Oh, that's Aggie Bunde." Phoebe smiled as she looked down at the women, "She took Fidelity's name when they were married."

"Married?!"

"Yeah, those two were lovers, and built this town because they every other town discriminated. They found the only pastor in the states who was willing to marry them and set him up in the church." she looked at Jessie carefully, "You don't have a problem with lesbianism, do you?"

Does she?
