Page 1: Shelter for the night

It is late, the sun is long gone. You cannot rest, though, for this area is a dangerous one. Bandits and beasts live here, and if you do not find shelter soon, you may become their next target. After what seems like hours of walking in these dark woods you see a light. As you approach it, you notice that it is a building, inside a clearing in the woods. Music and laughter can be heard coming from inside. You cautiously make your way closer and notice a sign above what looks like the front door.

"The Black and Red Tavern"

You open the door to the tavern and enter. It is a quite large place, with tables all around. The tavern is filled with people, all of them laughing and drinking merrily. On the stage in the corner of the room, a band plays music. In the other corner of the room, you see a bar. The bartender smiles at you as you approach. "Hello there", he says, leaning on the counter, "welcome to the Black and Red. You new around these parts?"

You answer yes. You've never been this far east before. In fact, this is the first time you'd ever left your hometown.

"You look like you've been walking non-stop for hours", he notices, "what you need is some good ale." He fills a pint with beer from a tap beneath the counter and passes it to you. "It's on the house", he smiles.

"So what's a girl like you doing so far from home?", he asks as you drink. You explain to him how you've recently decided to become an adventurer. He then tells you "Actually, I've been in dire need of an adventurer for some time now. You see, I lost an item a while back, and would pay a lot to get it back."

You quickly accept his quest and he smiles. He begins to describe the object he lost, it's a small statue of a goddess made of marble. "It's really easy to spot. Plus, the vibrations will get more and more intense the closer you are to it."

You are about to ask what he means by vibrations when you start to feel lightheaded.

"Don't worry, you'll know what to look for when you wake up", you can see his smile as you fall off your stool and pass out on the floor of the tavern.
