How else do you prepare?
Pack some supplies
You find a green backpack with a small first aid kit already inside. You go to the pantry and load up on canned goods and bottled water, enough to last you three days, you think. That's all the backpack will hold, but it should be more than enough for now.
The gun you're holding is very compact. You think you could hide it in the backpack if you wanted to, but you'd have to take out some of the food. In the backpack, the weapon wouldn't be as accessible, but it also wouldn't scream, "Look at me! I'm heavily armed!" to anyone who sees you.
