How does Joanne react?

Out Of Options

Joanne couldn’t believe her eyes, as she scanned the bathroom again. Not a single piece of clothing, or a towel. She let out a long sigh, before peeking her head into the bedroom. The door was still closed, so Joanne quickly ran in, looking for her robe. The robe was nowhere to be found, and Joanne noticed all the sheets and the comforter on her bed were also missing. She knew something was amiss, and tiptoed over to the bedroom door. Cracking it open slightly, Joanne loudly called out for Sam. She was quick to come around the corner, now dressed in a T-Shirt and shorts. Sam raised her eyebrow innocently, feigning confusion at why her mom was hiding behind the door. “Something wrong?”

“Do you know what happened to my robe? And what about my bed sheets? Or my comforter?” She questioned, hoping it was just another of her daughters’ practical jokes.

Sam pondered for a moment, and then seemed to recall what had happened. “Oh! Yeah, I figured you would want your robe washed so the stain wouldn’t settle in. I didn’t want to waste a load of laundry, so I figured it wouldn’t be a problem if I threw your sheets in. That way, you have clean sheets when we get back!” Sam said, smiling as innocently as ever.

Joanne realized that meant her only means of clothing or cover had been locked away in the washing machine, and blushed. She looked back to Sam. “...I guess that makes some sense. Could you go fetch me a towel? There’s no more in my room.”

Sam nodded her head, and walked down the hall. A few seconds later, she returned carrying a dark blue towel. Joanne recognized it as the towel that was far too small in all directions to be used as cover. It wasn’t long enough, being so short that there was a six inch gap if Joanne wrapped it around her body. Not to mention the width, which could only reach to the beginning of her butt if she wore it low enough to barely cover her areola. Simply put, Joanne knew that towel was as good as nothing. She promised herself to give the upstairs bathroom new towels as soon as possible. “...Is there another towel you could grab? That one is a little short...”

Sam seemed perplexed, and tilted her head to the side. “Why? This can dry you off.” Sam questioned.

“Well... It can, but then I still wouldn’t have anything to wear.” Joanne answered, blushing as she admitted to her lack of clothes.

“Wait, you don’t have anything to wear? Mom we’ve got to get out of here soon! There’s only fifteen minutes left until we need to leave, and we haven’t even packed the car yet!” Sam explained, feigning worry. Lacey heard the commotion, and looked downstairs, hoping Sam’s plan had worked.

What will Joanne do?
