Our clothes are... in need of laundering

Charlotte slid open the side door of the van gracefully as I popped open the back and the engine compartment. I admired the view for a moment as Charlotte quite obviously stripped off the clinging green shirt after slamming the door shut, totally in view of me. Any passing motorist would have easy caught an eyeful, but she merely acknowledged my stare with a graceful wave and pointed at the engine, which I was now hovered over. I got the point, and shook the aerosol can a bit before aiming it at the air intake and firing off two quick spurts. That should be enough, I hoped, and tossed the can into the nearby compartment before slamming things shut once again.

I looked up and noted that she had already settled back into the seat, with the blanket firmly wrapped around her.

"Naaace and warm in this blanket." She called back over her shoulder with a grin as I paused with my hand on the rear hatch.

"Right." I grinned at her, thinking about a warm shower or something similar. Just getting back to a warm cabin would be nice. I slammed the hatch down as quickly as I could, and wish I'd been paying better attention, because the motion made my feet slip on the mud. Not a huge amount, but enough to cause my entire right side to come into contact with wet earth and the plant life associated with it.

The squelching feeling in my feet didn't help much as I struggled to stand up again, frustrated that I'd just gotten mud all over my clothes. Absolutely was going to need to strip it off, and I tromped around the van, before pulling open the door once again. The rain helped a little as I sat on the floor of the van, Looking up at Charlotte, who seemed to be trying to hide a snicker.

"I'm sorry... I know I shouldn't be laughing at you with mud all over..." She snickered pulling the blanket about herself again. "But... you have to admit."

"No... no, you're right, it's funny." I agreed, tossing my now soaked shoes on the floor of the van, accompanied by my socks. My feet were cold now, but the rain did wonders for cleaning off the dirt. "Course, last time I remember being this muddy, for some reason there were a lot of frogs underfoot."

"Frogs?" Charlotte asked with an incredulous stare. "Sounds lahk a bettah storah than the duck tape one."

"Yeah." I nodded, pulling off the muddy Hawaiian after slamming the door closed. A bit of condensation was starting to build up on the windows from all the moisture, but once the engine got started, it should solve the problem. If it started. Well, I had to be an optimist about this. "We were moving bedframes in the middle of the night at the forward operating base for SOME reason, don't ask me why"

Charlotte continued to appraise me as I pulled down my shorts and jeans once again, leaving my still slightly wet and chilled body visible to her gaze.

"Where do the frogs come in?" She asked, admiring the motions.

"It was raining in Iraq, and... there were all these frogs for some reason. Like... hundreds of them. Jumping around, croaking, getting stepped on. Just weird. Nobody ever asked why, because it was the middle of the night and we were moving bedframes."

"Are you suah ya didn't dream this?" Charlotte looked at me with a unbelieving expression. "Frogs. Just... random frogs."

"Yeah, Big ones. Like the size of a coffee cup. Hopping around and sounding like frogs... ya know... Brekekekèx-koàx-koáx" I settled into the front seat, now nude. Charlotte's look seemed to become a bit more sensual as she eyed me.
