Open the Letter

Rahmi decided to investigate the letter first. Picking it up, she saw that it had already been open. Sliding the contents out, she saw that it read:

Dear Dr. Sinnsyk,

Your request for materials has been begrudgingly accepted. However, we would like to make clear our disappointment with your recent progress. Our expectation was that you would be able to create a reliable challenger to the villains The Burned hold at their disposal. While initially promising, we feel your subjects are still unable to pose a threat to our mutual adversary. Thus, this is the last shipment we are approving for your studies. We hope it will be enough to satisfy your research. If and when you produce a capable warrior, you may regain our support. Otherwise, we will be **** to terminate your branch.

We hope you will not disappoint again.

The letter lacked a signature, the sender only distinguished by a pair of angel wings. While some aspects were cryptic, it was obvious to Rahmi that Dr. Sinnsyk was in hot water with her employers. Taking a picture of the letter for her records, Rahmi put it back where she found it.
