Onward to the next town.

We continued through the woods, Sophia easily beating any bugs she fought, and we eventually made it to the next town, a beach side resort. I looked at the sign at the entrance and found out the town was quite small, only having a Pokemon Center and a Shop, no Gym.

"Hey, why don't we go swimming?" I asked, pointing to the ocean.

"Uhh, I think I'm close to evolving, After that sure if you want to." Sophia responded, walking over to a grass patch near the exit of the woods.

I walked behind her, and as soon as she took a step in the grass, a Taillow swooped from a nearby tree. It landed a scratch on Sophia, but she shrugged it off and bashed it with her tail, defeating it. Sophia began to glow an intense yellow, and I saw her silhouette grow a good 4 inches, and her tail grew two leafs along it. I also saw her frame seem to slim, the bumps and ridges from her loose hoodie disappearing.

When the light faded, I saw that her once pinned up hair she now had let down, her shoulder length green locks draped over her shoulders, now wearing a emerald vest with a yellow collar, on top of a pale green sweater. While she still had her green leggings, she was now wearing a pleated skirt.

She looked back at me, with a satisfied grin on her face, before walking back over to me. She now nearly reached my shoulders, a much more reasonable height than when I first met her.

"Well, what do you think?" She asked, flaring her skirt.

"Uhhhh..." I was speechless, mouth agape at her beauty.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Sophia said, amused by my stammering. "Well, lets head to the beach!" Sophia said, tugging on my arm with surprising ****.

We headed to the beach, and when we got there, I let Karla out of her pokeball.

"Where are we?" She asked, looking around, confused.

"We're at the beach! I thought you would like it here, seeing you wear your swimsuit all the time anyways."

"The beach, Yay!" She cheered, running over to the water.

Me and Sophia walked over to the Pokemon Center, then got changed in the washrooms there.

I walked out before Sophia, and headed to the beach to see Karla, swimming through the water with immense speed.

She noticed me and walked onto the beach, when I noticed she was taller than before, nearly as tall as Sophia.

"Hey, did you level up?" I asked,

"Level up? What does that mean? When you left I didn't know what to do, so I swam around and found some funny looking candy, so I ate it and I think I got bigger! Isn't that cool!" She cheered. "I think I learned a new thing too! Look!" She shoved her phone in my face and I saw a second box was filled with the word 'Tackle' which I knew as a weak attacking move, but it was good she at least has something to train with.

As I was talking to Karla, I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I turned around to see Sophia, arms crossed, looking down at the ground, in a knee length swimsuit.

"Wow, you look good Sophia!" I complimented, her face turning red in embarrassment.

She then shoved me into the water, and I looked up to see her, now grinning at me.

"You idiot, you don't have to flatter me like that." She said, joining me in the water.

I splashed her in response to her push, and we began violently splashing each other, until I felt a huge downpour of water. I looked to see Karla helping Sophia, kicking up huge amounts of water at my face.

We continued to have fun at the beach until sundown, when we set up a few towels on the ground and made a picnic meal. Before we sat down, I noticed Karla was even taller, now beating out Sophia in height at 4'10.

"Did you find more of those candies or something?" I asked Karla,

"No, but I do feel bigger, maybe your device-thingy knows why." She responded, and I scanned her with my Pokedex.

'Magikarp, the Fish Pokemon,

Magikarp are often regarded as the weakest Pokemon, most only know splash, a useless move. In the past, Magikarp could get more powerful by simply swimming, unalike any other Pokemon, but nowadays that genetic is incredibly rare, so most Magikarp are useless.'

"Wow, so I guess I'm really lucky! Not only are you off colored, you also have a rare trait? Awesome!" I exclaimed.

Satisfied with the explanation, we sat down and ate. This time Sophia didn't try to steal my food, but she was done early, and decided she would train in the meantime. When I was nearly finished my dinner, I noticed two glowing vines on either side of me, just barely poking out of the ground. I looked at Sophia, who was training against Magikarp from the ocean, and as soon as she saw me from the corner of her eye, I saw the two vines under me creep back into the ground.

I walked up to Sophia and asked, "Hey, what was that? We're you trying to prank me again or somethin?"

"I don't know what you are talking about, I've been over here the whole time." She retorted

"But then why did the vines beside me disappear when you saw me?"

"I don't know, maybe it was just in your head?" Sophia said, shrugging.

"Okay then, just know that I really don't want you hiding anything from me." I said.

"Gotcha."

Sophia evidently trained hard, as she now stood higher than my shoulders.

"Hey, would you be willing to arm wrestle?" She asked, "I've just been training pretty hard and I want to see if I'm stronger than you."

"Sure, I don't see any harm in that," I said, before lying down in the sand, arm perched in front of me.

Sophia led down and grabbed my hand, and began to count.

"3, 2, 1, Go!"

I tried to move her hand, but she was fighting back really well. I was putting all my weight into my arm, but when I looked up at Sophia's face, she simply had a smug grin. She was toying with me.

"Are you not taking this seriously?" I asked.

"Do you want me to?"

"Obviously, use your all!" I demanded.

I immediately regretted saying this as Sophia slammed my hand into the sand, grinning in satisfaction.

"Wow, your pretty weak for your size. You couldn't even beat a little girl who is nearly a head shorter than you!" She mocked, flicking me in the nose.

"Wow, that's kind of harsh" I asked, annoyed by her gloating,

"Oh yeah, what are ya gonna do about it?" she said, caught up in her pride.

I pulled out her pokeball, and I immediately saw her smile disappear.

I pressed the button and she turned into a flash of light, before being returned to the ball.

I pressed the button and she reappeared, a scowl on her face.

"Why did you do that? Being in that ball is awful." She said, her scowl unwavering.

"You asked what I could do about it. So I showed you." I said calmly.

"Okay, I'll make you a deal, I'll stop gloating, if you keep me out of that wretched thing, and you need to not be such a sore loser." She offered,

"Fine, but I'm not a sore loser." I replied,

"Oh, you totally are, but whatever, lets head to sleep."

I returned Karla to her pokeball, and me and Sophia laid on the towel we set out.
