Onward, to Route 1. FINALLY!!!!

You leave the beach, and Jake, shortly after Sunrise. A part of you doesn't want to leave, but you were worried that if you didn’t leave soon, you might never leave. So after saying good bye to Jake and a short stop by your Mom’s to leave your Pokemon Egg with her you are finally ready, you are finally at the entrance to Route 1 and ready to start you Pokemon Journey in earnest!

You and Bell are standing at the border between Pallet Town and Route 1. One more step and you will have left the relative safety of the town and enter the relative danger of the lawless Route.

“Today’s the day Amber! Sure, you might have gotten off to a rough start but are you going to let that keep you down? NO! You have trained, you have prepared, you already have your second Pokemon! You are ready, you can do this!” You continue to stand at the town border between Pallet town and Route 1. “Just one more step.” You continue to stand there. “Just got to take that next step.”

“Ok, on three” you take a deep breath “1, 2, and 3” You manage to overcome your nerves and take that last step forward. You are officially out of Pallet Town and on Route 1. “See, that wasn’t so hard. Now you just have to take a few thousand more…”

Step by step you walk farther and farther away from the safety of Pallet Town and deeper into the dangerous Route 1. Each step easier and faster than the first, soon find yourself running in excitement and joy, Bell the Bulbasaur close behind you. You are caught up in the excitement as you run over hedges, through bushes, past wild Pokemon, and even past a few trainers.

Eventually you stop running and rest by a tree so that Bell can catch up. You being able to stop running to catch your breath was just a bonus. It wasn’t like you are out of breath or anything.

“Well Bell, this is it, we are officially on Route 1. So, what should we do first? Head straight to Viridian City, kick some trainer but, find some more Pokemon to catch?”

You look at Bell for a second who gives you a questioning look. She eventually smiles and walks up to you and starts rubbing up against your leg like a Meowth that wants to be petted but otherwise doesn’t give you an answer. Honestly you aren’t sure how much she understands what you are saying, but it seems like you aren’t going to be getting any answers from her. Looks like this decision will be up to you!
