One of the tiny people

In a hotel on the city outskirts, overlooking the beach, dozens of people bustled in panic. Some fans of Riho were peering out at the photo shoot - and through binoculars, witnessed the model growing and growing.

A businesswoman dialed numbers on her desk phone, clutching the receiver as she stared from the window. "TamNews? Do I have a story for you. Here's your headline: 'The Gulliver Girl of the South Island'..."

In the suite below, a politician pounded on his keyboard, in front of an instant messenger. "There are American military bases all over Okinawa. Why aren't they doing anything?"

The response from a fellow official appeared onscreen: "We are currently investigating the situation, and communicating with allies overseas."

He shook his head, and typed faster. "Look, I don't care who handles it! The Marines, the JSDF, the Earth Defense **** - just get someone to stop her!" A booming noise rattled his window. The massive woman had turned to her side. He added: "She's getting bigger and more dangerous every second!"

In the halls, an Australian tourist held his cellphone to his cheek, packing his bags. "You gotta get me the first flight out, guys!..." Listening to the other end, he dodged bustling crowds, and gazed up at a hotel TV above. News helicopters were filming her, spread across the beach. "...What? Yeah, yeah, she's hot, but that's not important!..." To the shock of staff and visitors gazing up onscreen, the titan was waking up - and lumbering forward. Some people were still on other parts of the shore nearby, bustling around - they looked like insects below her.

He spoke into his phone again. "...Her name? I don't know. I think she's an idol or something? The English tourists are calling her the 'Demolition Girl', like she's a movie monster. But the locals, they're calling her something else..." He listened in closer, and turned to a local nearby with a quizzical expression. "...What was that?"

This woman shivered, eyes glued to the screen. "The Giant Beauty..." She gulped. "The Daibijin."
