“We can arrest him easily but first we have to prove his guilt. We've determined his Alaskan gold dredges to be the softest target to infiltrate.”

“Our idea, Ms. Bond,” M added after finishing her cigarette, the miss reappearing now that she requested Jamie’s full agreement again, “is for you to fly in to Alaska, infiltrate the dredges and gather as much intelligence as possible. The workers are going to be on their Christmas holiday, so you shouldn't be noticed. Mission success is considered finding definitive proof that the gold is being brought in from off site (AKA produced by slaves). After that our contacts in Interpol are ready to arrest him.”

After Bond nodded, M seemed to relax in her seat. “Perfect, 003. There’s a flight from Heathrow leaving tonight. You're alias is Emily Stone, an average Alaskan returning from her trip to Britain. You won't be taking any gadgets from the Q branch with you, as I'm sure you won't need them on such a simple mission.” seeing the look on Jamie's face she added "you can buy guns in America".

A knowing smile blossomed on Jamies’s lips. After so many missions for the MI6, she couldn’t pretend to be surprised by M’s calculation anymore.

“Alright, 003, I expect this Lukas Beck to be ancient history very soon. And one more thing, you'll be taking along an up and coming agent, as an assistant of sorts. His code name is twin bee, and he'll have to follow your every command. Here's his picture" she handed Jamie a printed copy.

"It's his first field assignment, but he shows rare talent. After the mission I expect a report from you about his performance, as we are considering him to be double 0 material, and your opinion will greatly influence whether or not he gets a license to kill ”

Her words were final and Jamie knew better than to discuss them. After all, her reputation within the SIS of being a rather free-willed agent was not to be demonstrated anymore, as she regularly triggered M’s ire along with a questionable amount of paperwork.

With a smirk and a handshake, Jamie left M’s office and found herself in the familiar Great London’s streets.
