"Uh, okay," I managed to stammer rather lamely as I set my drink down beside her empty glass, not quite believing my ears. Robin couldn't have just propositioned me in the middle of our class reunion. Or could she have?

"Meet me at room 412 in ten minutes," Robin told me, her voice suddenly turned to a husky whisper as she stepped away, her breast brushing against my arm as she melted into the crowd again. Shaking my head in disbelief I started weaving my way through the crowd, towards the exit. The corridors of the school felt cold and barren after the crush of the crowd in the gym, of course the high school had always felt barren to me. I slowly wandered the halls, my eyes running over the rows and rows of lime green lockers, picking out the few that had been mine during my four year career here. Ten minutes later I was standing in front of room 412, shaking my head at the memories. I had taken senior English in this room with a crotchety old maid, Ms. Merritt. I was so engrossed in my memories that I hadn't heard Robin approach, not realizing she was behind me until she announce in her best teacher's voice, "You're tardy, Mr. Doe!"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Shannon," I replied with a smile once I had recovered from the shock, bowing my head like a guilty schoolboy. "Will I have to go to the principals office?"

"No," Robin replied with a throaty laugh as she leaned past me to unlock the door of her classroom, "but I think I will have to keep you late today, Mr. Doe, to teach you a lesson."

"Now that sounds very promising," I told her softly, breaking out of character for a brief second as she opened the door, ushering me into the classroom. "Now what is my punishment going to be, Ms. Shannon?" I asked in my schoolboy attitude.
