Chapter 6 by 11kestrels 11kestrels

What happens next?

Off to the Underdark

Justina had only heard rumors of the Underdark, and the strange creatures that roamed freely there. Among these creatures were giant spiders, Myconids, Rust Monsters who could render both metal armor and weapons useless. Then there was the most feared creature of them all that few ever survived to tell about. It was a spider like creature called the Bebilith. The Bebilith took its enjoyment from stripping its prey naked, then mating with it. It was rumored that Driders came from such abominable unions, but no one was sure. One thing was certain, the Bebilith was nothing anyone wanted to mess with. They were the most feared servants of the Drow goddess Llolth. It was believed that the first Drider came from a union of a Drow with a Bebilith, and that Drow who refused to serve Llolth were cast out into the Underdark to mate with them. Justina shuddered at the thought. Her greatest fear was ending up as a Bebilith breeding partner.

Even though Bebiliths were highly feared, there were other creatures just as fearsome. There were Mind Flayers, Dark Dwarves, Lizard people, Dark Gnomes, the Charus, which was more like the centipede version of the Bebilth. The Falmer also thrived in the Underdark, and they used the Charus as pets. For the most part, other inhabitants of the Under dark steered clear of them. They were enemies to every living thing.

Hagravens were also very perilous with their knowledge and command of magic. Justina thought on all of this, wondering if any of them would survive the journey to the great Underdark city of the Drow.

Meanwhile, Justina was shackled and collared. Attached to her collar was a leash. The Troll trusted no one else to keep Justina's purity intact. He knew exactly what a bunch of horn dogs his horde of followers were.

"You didn't have to shackle me," she told the Troll. "I'm not going to give you any trouble. I'm more worried about if we'll make it to the Drow, or if something bad will happen along the way."

"With me, you are in good hands. No harm comes to you. I won't allow anyone or anything to damage you." The Troll sounded rather convincing, and it did put Justina's mind at ease. In him, at least, she had a protector. "We go now to meet Drow."

The Troll had picked out twenty of his best, well armed fighters, figuring that would be enough of an escort to make it there and back again. Once they were all assembled, and had their packs ready, they marched away from the main horde, into the darkness below.

Will they make it?
