Observe Them

You observe the strangers from beneath the waves, careful to be yourself hidden and submerged. They were indeed strange, unlike any of the beastwomen you have encountered on the island. Many of them also appeared to sport large bulges in their crotch area where beastwomen would have a smooth patch. You've certainly never seen a beastwoman with a bulge like that, and naturally, you feel a spark of curiosity ignite in you to find out what is bulging inside those pants.
