Nothing good for Aurelie

It took a moment for his words to sink into Aurelie's mind. She stared at him, then saw the cold cruel smile on her boss's face and realised that she was in the presence of danger.

Real, deadly danger.

She took a step back, stumbling a bit in her heels as she saw some of the other men in the room began to move.

"What is this?" she squeaked in apprehension, fearing the look of implacable regard on Ed's face even more than the cruelty of her boss's gaze.

"Evening the score between us," her boss said coldly. "Paying you for your insolence."

With a little scream, Aurelie turned and ran for the wide entrance door, frantic with panic.
