Chapter 21
by FallenSaint
Well? What is it?
Nothing Dangerous.
Before Venus could even get her sword out of its sheath, Lobo relaxed his muscles and turned to her, a wolfish grin on his big handsome face. He took her in his arms and pulled her to him.
"Just a passing traveler lass. Now, lets see about getting you out of those cloths."
"Not this time wolf boy," She said with a laugh as she pushed away from him.
"I'm still hurting from last night and this morning. You've fucked me senseless over and over in wolf form and I'm not sure I can take that again tonight. Besides we have a lot more traveling to do so we need some rest tonight."
Lobo's face took on the look of a hurt puppy begging for scraps, drawing another giggle out of the young beauty. Finally the man sighed and scooped her up easily in his powerful arms.
"Alright alright. I guess you got a point there lass. Rest tonight and fun later."
Venus had passed out from exhaustion the night before, so she had not yet truly slept with her mate. In his warm embrace, Venus slept better than she had in years. His hard body pressed gently against her soft breasts and stomach, and their legs entwined, made her more relaxed and happy than she could have ever imagined.
The next couple of days passed quickly for her. The travel was easy and they talked happily the entire trip. Her original estimate of four days turned into six when after three days of holding off the pair could no longer bare remaining celibate. They found a small stream to camp by and spent a day and a half in blissful rut as he took her over and over in both his forms. Rondo preferred slow gentle love making with her riding him, while Lobo liked to be more hands on and forceful. Venus for her part was happy with both and didn't care which soul was in control, as long as they both loved her.
Near evening on the sixth day, the lovers finally reached the gate of Namina. Like Wyrd and Regis, Namina had a wall around it. It wasn't as big or sturdy as the other two cities, and mostly used to **** the merchants to check their wares at the gates. With no cargo to check, or paperwork to fill out, the pair were quickly ushered through a small side gate used by people on foot.
Namina was a large place, though almost eighty percent of the city was a large open air market. Near the center of town were the two largest buildings. One was the residence of the mayor, Lady Namina Gage. Lady Gage had carried on her father's caravan business and her success had bought her a seat in the nobility.
The second building was their destination: The Hunter's Lounge. The Lounge, like all others, was large enough for over a hundred people to comfortable eat and drink at the bar on the lowest floor, and house almost half that number in the second floor apartments. The third floor was used for business transaction and meetings. Some Lounges had more floors and space, but Namina's was actually pretty average.
Fifty Hunters made Namina their permanent home, but at least twenty others lived in the surrounding villages and towns. There were always other Hunters passing through or stopping in to help on the occasional heavy workload, so the Lounge stayed pretty busy.
As they got closer to the Lounge, Venus could see that Rondo was getting nervous, so she took his hand to reassure him. She pushed through the doorway and was greeted to a sword pointed at her face. She stared at it in confusion for a moment before realizing that it was Ace holding the sword. Beside him stood Tychus, a ball of fire in his hand. Several other hunters were on their feet and reaching for their weapons. One pushed through and nodded to Tychus. She recognized him as Salvin, a Hunter from one of the surrounding villages.
"Just like I told you sir. That guy's a were. His eyes are turning gold already."
Ace glanced at Rondo who was barely through the door since she was blocking his path, then locked eyes with her.
"He might be, but she's not. Same eyes as always. Same muscle mass. Not seeing any of the normal signs for a were. Sal, you sure you saw these two..."
"Yeah, rutting like they were in heat by the river near my village."
Tychus cleared his throat and extinguished his fire with a wave of his hand. He placed his other hand on Ace's sword and made him lower it.
"If he hasn't changed you, and he's in control enough to still be human in the middle of a city, then I'm sure you have some sort of reason for bringing him here Venus. I think you better explain things to us."
Tychus wasn't speaking loudly, but the commanding tone in his voice was strong enough that the whole room heard it easily. Some of the Hunters lowered their weapons, but most kept a firm grip on whatever they had on hand.
Venus gulped and she prepared to try and convince the entire Lounge that everything was alright.
Does she succeed?
