Not well at all, you don’t sleep much.

The sleep you have had recently has been post-coital bliss in the arms of a beautiful lover, which for your money is the best there is. That isn’t what you have just had.

You kept watch of your daughter, watching for symptoms, and watching our for Maria trying something shady with her. You are tired, but functional.

You watch Kira as she wakes up, she also doesn’t look like she slept well, you feel her discomfort in this place, and you wonder how she has not shown symptoms of the disease. It has been fourteen hours, she should be jumping on anyone she can find right now.

This is not how the disease works.

A male nurse checks yours and Kira’s vitals, and then brings your breakfast. You notice not only is he young and handsome, but he is wearing a donor badge. He isn’t wearing it on a lanyard as he is supposed to in this place, but he is wearing it.

And there it is again, ESD, like the other donor. Maria is hoping Kira will respond to this rather beautiful man, but she doesn’t. She eats her breakfast, but the two of you are quiet.

You both fear the tests that may come today, you both miss the other quite desperately.

A bit later Maria comes in, holding two coffees, she hands one to Kira, one you know she likes, and one for you. A peppermint mocha that you rather enjoy.

“Can we talk John,” she says, the angry tone is gone, at least for now. “In your office?”

You remove your monitors and silence the machines, then you hold Kira’s hand, “I won’t be long, my office is right across the hall, you give her a kiss on the forehead before you leave. What you wanted to do was taste her lips, her beautiful full lips. You wanted to feel the firmness of her breast in your hand, to pleasure her. But not right now

As you walk away you sense Kira is feeling something like you, you can almost smell her arousal, you can hear her breathing change.

Her monitors betray her changes in temperature, heart rate and breathing. You notice and Maria notices. She sends the male nurse in again, to see if it is the symptoms presenting, but your daughter barely notices that he is in the room.

Her heart rate decreases when he walks in, she is obviously turned off by his presence.

How odd.
