Not much happened, really

I shrug. “Well don't feel bad, you aren’t really missing much.” I decide to minimize the whole ordeal. The less she has to build suspicion off of the better.

“Humor me.”

“Well, what do you remember last?”

“Start from when we got back to the house.”

“Okay. We got back to the house and started filling bags and drinking more wine... Oh yeah, you changed into casual clothes first, then we bagged. Then you put on music and you sang along to a couple. Then there was a song you really liked so you twisted my arm until I joined you for a dance break. It was fun, but you were starting to look a little green after that. I was worried that you were going to get sick so I helped you get to bed and got you some water.”

“And...?” She looks pretty tense. I am not sure what she is fishing for.

“...And you said you were okay so I went back to bagging. It took FOREVER, but I feel like you overpaid me with that incredible dinner, so I didn’t mind THAT much. Then I let myself out. How are you feeling now?” Her need to keep sunglasses on and her constant grimace are clear signs she feels like shit, but it looks good to ask.

"You didn't see me after I went to bed?"

"No, but I heard you flush the toilet an hour later so I knew you were still moving around..." I give her a grave look. "You WERE okay, right? I didn't hear vomiting or anything, and you didn't seem that bad."

"I'm fine," she says, dismissing the topic. She seems to relax a little at that point. I'm sure she will have niggling doubts about the events, but without anything more to go on, she can let it go. Meanwhile I get to remember what a teasing bitch she was to me. "That's all I wanted."

I give her a sympathetic look. "If you need a little pick-me-up for lunch, I can make you a special iced Thai espresso to help kick the hangover.

"Sure." She says, starting to actually put her things away.

"Coming right up." ...right after I make more creamer for you.
