Chapter 13 by takacube takacube

Diamonds...

Not much but a girl's gotta have some bling...

It was a bit odd but Jim was more or less anxious as he turned and looked at his reflection in the mirror for the third time in less than five minutes, making sure that his hair was just right and then fixing his makeup, tidying it a bit, and then trying to keep calm. He wasn't even sure why he was so fidgety. I'm just meeting him for coffee, jesus, he thought to himself but if that did anything, it only made him a bit more nervous.

At the party, when he came back in, he noticed that he was seated next to a late-comer who introduced himself as Gerald Mills. The two of them talked and after the party ended, found themselves hanging out at the bar for a few more hours. Jim didn't really remember doing a lot but as they got up to leave at the last call, Gerald had offered to give him a lift home and Jim had accepted. (He had wisely caught a cab going there so getting a lift, especially a free one, was a godsend). He hadn't really noticed anything unusual, though, and he barely remembered anything else other than the two of them talking in the car and as he got out, Gerald offered to meet up for coffee. Jim, for his part, had said yes.

It's just coffee, he reminded himself again before his eyes spotted Gerald coming in to the coffee shop and, after spotting Jim, made his way over and smiled. "Hey, sorry, got held up in traffic."

Jim smiled and stood up and shook the man's hand. He hadn't noticed but the height difference was a bit noticeable now that he thought about it without being plastered. Even with his 3 inch heels, Gerald still was a good 5 inches taller than him and that, for some reason, made him feel a bit better inside. Jim shook his head and after the two of them got their orders and sat back down, they began to talk.

It was only after an hour of talking, and a buzzing of his phone, did Jim realize just how long they were sitting there and he quickly excused himself to the restroom. As he walked in and closed the door behind him, Jim looked at his phone and noticed that it was a message from Angela, just smiling and asking how the 'coffee meeting' was going. When Jim sent back a thumbs up emoji, his daughter jokingly sent an eggplant back at him. Jim rolled his eyes and after he was done and adjusted his skirt, he turned and looked at his bag. Inside was the quiz and he had read the most recent question for the morning.

11.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOU WEAR JEWELRY?

He didn't hesitate with this one, especially since he didn't really want to leave Gerald outside for a bit longer than necessary (where this thought came from irked him a bit but then it passed just as quickly). I wouldn't wear too much but a girl needs to have some on her. I would love earrings and necklaces and all sorts of jewelry but it would be tasteful.

Jim walked out of the bathroom and made his way back to the table as Gerald smiled and motioned that he had gotten him a refill. They continued to talk and as he did, Jim's ring slowly disappeared, being replaced by a small thin band that fit his smaller hand and finger. A similar looking band appeared on Gerald's hand, though more appropriate for a man's hand. He laughed and brought his hand up to his face, pausing to brush his hair aside and felt the slight tug as earrings appeared on both ears and a thin gold necklace slid down his neck. Jim didn't notice any of this, though, as he leaned in slightly towards Gerald and his fingers fiddled a little with his black hair. For once, he was glad that he had spent the past day working on his hair and managed to get it mostly straight with some waves in them, it was so much easier to control than when it was all curly and poofy (like Angela's this morning, though the girl loved to have her hair free and frizzy.)

As they got up to go, Gerald reached out and shook Jim's hand. "Listen, can we meet up tomorrow evening? I wanted to get your advice on something, if you don't mind."

Jim smiled and nodded. "Sure, sounds great!"

"So...tell me, how'd it go today?"

Jim looked back as Angela sat down on his bed and patted the mattress next to her. "What?"

"Come on, dad, don't be so coy. I know you went out on a date today."

"Cof..."

Angela dismissed that easily. "Okay, coffee date then. What's he's like?" Jim laughed and handed her his phone and when she looked at the selfie picture, Angela let out a playful shriek. "Damn, dad, he's jacked!"

"Come on, it's not like that..."

His daughter laughed at that before she turned and got off the bed. "Mom's going to be late tonight and I got a date with Sean, okay? Don't wait up."

Jim was about to say something when he remembered that Sean was a 19 year-old college freshman, the son of the neighbors next door, and that the two of them had been going out for the past 2 years. He wondered why this was a bit strange, he should've remembered that. "Okay, don't stay out too late."

After Angela walked out, he turned and looked down at the next question on the quiz and laughed a bit before turning and walking into the bathroom for a shower.

12.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WHAT SIZE WOULD YOUR BREASTS BE?

How big is too big?
