Nope. Never met her before. “Nice to meet you Lawan,” I say introducing myself.

My cheesy line worked so well before that I’m tempted to give her hand a kiss. Ahh screw it! I do it anyway. Much to my delight she blushes even redder so that she’s practically beet red despite her golden skin. She gets all bashful but still looks up at me with the most adorable eyes. Even with their almond shape, they have extremely long lashes for an Asian.

“What are you doing now?” I ask when she seems too bashful to speak.

“Oh I came with my sister but I don’t know where she is now. She’s not answering her phone so I’m not sure how I’m going to get home.”

“I’ve finished work for the night. I could take you home.”

Lawan gives me some eager nods of the head so I boldly slide my hand to the small of her back and start to lead us from the club. Seems I might have managed to salvage a successful ending from this night after all. Lawan is cute yet sexy in an indescribable way. The arousal I’d felt with Piya hadn’t entirely gone away after the sudden **** so I’m more than willing to see where things might lead with Lawan.

My car is parked not too far from The Loft so it is a short work for Lawan and me to get there. I continue with the chivalrous act holding open the door for the petite Asian girl and letting her in my car. As we start to drive, Lawan gives me some general directions towards her house. They’re not super helpful but I have an alright idea of where it is she is trying to lead me. I guess she doesn’t drive or perhaps is just used to being driven around as a passenger princess.

“So, what do you do Lawan?” I ask hoping to get to know her a little better during the trip.

“I’m finishing school very soon,” she says.

“Oh, very cool. Which university?” I’ve never seen her at mine but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t go to one of the others in our city.

“No high school.”

I cough in fright for a split second. Did we let an under-ager into the club tonight? Did she use a fake ID perhaps?

“How old are you?”

“I turned 18 a couple of months back. I stayed down a year when my family first came to Australia.”

Oh, thank goodness for that! She’s young but there’s less than a 10-year age gap between us.

We chat about what she has planned for the future once she finishes out the school year but it sounds like Lawan doesn’t really know what she wants to do. Other than mentioning a friend ‘Dawn’ and hanging out with her, Lawan is a free spirit.

We eventually get to the address Lawan has brought me and pull up out the front. It’s a nice older house so I’m guessing she must live at home with her family. I park on the street and cut the engine off. Lawan undoes her seatbelt but makes no move to get out. I likewise unclip mine. Trees line the street blocking out the illumination of the street lights. In the dim partial darkness, Lawan looks better than I have seen.

“Thank you for giving me…” she begins to say before I cut her off, leaning across the centre console to kiss her.

She freezes in place as my lips touch hers, an outbreathed puff of air as she gasps softly before tentatively starting to return my kiss. They are soft and delicate, remaining closed mouth but after a handful of heartbeats Lawan surprises me by becoming an eager and enthusiastic kisser. She starts to turn her head to the side seeking better approaches to my face. Her arms seek me out cautiously finding my shoulder and the back of my neck as I follow her into a tight embrace. She essentially pulls me across the car until I am awkwardly leaned over the passenger’s seat as we make out.

I’m not sure how long we kiss like that but it must be several minutes. Lawan is breathing quickly and wild-eyed looking as she finally gives me one more forceful closed-mouth kiss. She looks at me intensely and I wish desperately I could read her thoughts right then.

She only breaks the intense eye contact when shyness overcomes hers as she asks. “My parents are home, but… you could come inside if we’re quiet?”
