You have had quite enough of Mark already. He is partially, if not fully, responsible for one of the most harrowing experiences of your life. Seeing him just reminds you of that night, as such you would rather not have to. You put on the most cordial tone you can and gracefully decline the offer. After breakfast, you horridly pack your bags and leave, not caring to say your goodbyes. Walking around however, soon turns out to be quite the pain as your poor abused ass pulses with pain with each step.

You make your way back to Virirdan City proper where you halt for a moment. You had been in such a hurry to get away from Mark, that you really hadn’t had time to think what your next move should be. Now you stand stuck still in the center of town square with no sense of what to do. Having a bed to sleep in is rather important you conclude to yourself and start looking for an inn or hotel, any place that might have rentable rooms.

You find what you are looking for in a quaint little bed and breakfast. Inside you are greeted by and older man somewhere in his sixties. “How might I help a lovely young lady like yourself?” he asks in a warm and welcoming tone. “Hi I’m sky“ you say blushing a bit at the compliment. “I’m here from out of town, on my journey to become a Pokémon trainer and I’m looking for a place to stay while I’m in Viridian City. “ The man put on a wide smile, “Ahh on of Oak’s little saplings I take it” he says with a chuckle. “As it happens we do have just one such room available” he says before disappearing inside a room behind the counter. When he returns he hands you a numbered key, and says “You’ll find it up the stairs first door on the left.” You take the keys and start limping your way to your room. “Looks like you could really use the rest huh?” You hear from the clerk, “I’ll give you the first night free” For a second you question if the clerk as an ulterior motive, but quickly scold yourself for being so cynical. You turn to face the clerk flash him a big smile and thank him, before heading up stairs to your room.

The room is small and sparsely decorated, but it has a bed, which is all you care about now. You drop your bag against a wall and plop down on the bed with a sigh. Moving around in any great capacity is out of the question with your behind in the state is in right now, the best you can do is rest, and maybe visit the local physician. Having nothing better to do you pull out the pamphlet you got from Oak and finally fulfil your promise to him by reading it. When you are finished reading you feel somewhat thankful towards Oak, he was clearly trying to warn you about the law when he insisted you read the pamphlet. Too bad you were too much in a hurry to heed his warning. Here you are dearly paying for that mistake. Beside information about the law, such as the winner of a battle not being legally allow to challenge the loser to another battle within a 24-hour timespan, there really isn’t that much useful information in the pamphlet, that you didn’t already know. Further solidifying your theory regarding Oaks intentions.

You spend the next couple of days in your room recovering, before finally being able to move about pain free. Now that you are back on your feet it’s time to get to the reason you are even here, training and catching Pokémon! You buy supplies in the local Pokémart and set off to train Mr. Bubbles and maybe even catch some other Pokémon. You get some good training for Mr. Bubbles early in the day as he continues he previous experience of wiping the floor with Rattatas. You even catch one of them. Throughout his countless victories Mr. Bubbles does sustain a few injuries and you decide that is enough training for the day and you head back towards town.

Before you can make it to Viridian City you are accosted by a weird looking guy your age. He is somewhat shifty and if you didn’t know better you would think his face had rat like features. His beady little eyes behind his thick glasses stare at pretty much every part of you but your face. “What do you want four eyes?" you ask, very much able to guess what he wants. “I- I challenge you to a Pokémon battle” he half screeches. You scuff and draw Mr. Bubbles Pokéball. Four eyes throws his first Pokéball it’s… it’s a Rattata you chuckle a little, this will be easy you think. That is when you notice he has 5 Pokéballs on his belt. You start to worry. Mr. Bubbles has become quite the beast during the days training, but he’s hurt and it’s just a matter of attrition whether you win or lose this.

Mr. Bubbles massacres his way through four eyes first four Pokémon who are surprise surprise all Rattatas. When battling the fifth, Mr. Bubbles finally succumbing to his wounds. You fall to your knees, your first battles since Mark and you lost again. All the things this perv will make you do starts running thorough your head. “Hey what’s the holdup get your second Pokémon out!” four eyes says sounding rather frustrated. Confused you look to your Pokeball holster and realize you have another Pokémon, the Rattata you captured earlier today. “Rattata go!” you shout as you throw the Pokéball. Thankfully, Mr. Bubbles managed to do a number on the fifth Rattata before going down, so your own Rattata is in for an easy fight.

Four eyes cries out in frustration as his last Pokémon is beaten. You take a stack of cash off him and head back to town skipping along happily humming to yourself. At the bed and breakfast that evening, you ask the clerk how much you owe him so far for the stay. You pale at the figure he gives you. It is almost all the money you have, including what you took off four eyes. You head to your room, and get ready for bed, the happiness of your first victory somewhat dampened by the realization that you are about to go broke.
