“Your mother has informed me that she and your father are going out to dinner tonight, so she won’t be able to take part in something that I had discussed with her earlier.

She has also given me what she described as a tip, and I am thinking that she will be ignored by your father later in the week, at which point I will be giving her a tip in return, and as much more of me as she can handle.”
