Chapter 4
by Suckersoprano
Does he investigate the noise?
No.
Dago ignored the noise and kept moving. He wandered through the library a bit longer, meandering with no real destination. He wandered a bit more until he came to the middle of the library, where there was a large table. Two women were sitting at either end, both reading something. The first was Madeleine, a smart looking black woman who Dago didn’t know much about, other than she had a bit off a tiff with Selene, the resident magical engineer. At the other end was Mischa, sitting with her legs cross on the chair, peering over her book with she fiddled with the end of her incredibly long braid. Dago knew a bit more about her, but not by much. They looked a bit like polar opposites, Madeleine with her smart business casual clothing and Mischa, barefoot in her favorite orange sari.
Mischa looked up at Dago when he came a bit closer, “Oh, maybe you can help us out.”
Madeleine looked up when Mischa began to speak, too. Apparently, they were both researching the same thing or something to that effect. Dago wasn’t sure how he could help, but he stuck around.
“Madeleine thinks that the most important topic of research is magical artifacts, I think it’s demonology, which do you think?”
