No time to waste

While it would probably be a good idea to grab a few bouncers, if Akari got out of sight, I might waste a lot of precious time trying to find her in the nearby parking garage where she seemed to be heading. I felt a tap at my shoulder, and hurriedly verified that it was indeed my co-worker Trey. He was another bouncer, and had been there for as long as nearly anyone can remember. With his large mustache and dark skin he totally looked the part. If anybody was going to handle things while I was gone, he would have been one of my first choices.

"Right back. Looks like trouble." I could still see Akari, who had turned around near the end of the line and was urgently gesturing for me to follow.

"Need a hand?" Trey asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he moved into my post.

"Nah, I got this." I tossed back over my shoulder, breaking into a light jog to catch up with Akari. While I could probably have used the help, if he'd come with me we would have wasted even more time than I already had searching for another replacement.

I reached Akari, who nodded curtly, and began moving at a fast walk. There was purpose in her eyes, and I noticed that occasionally she would rotate a shoulder beneath her jacket as she walked along the dark concrete sidewalk.

"Ok, these guys are Kaminari Zoku wannabes. " Akari spoke softly, as we approached the small door which led to the first floor of the parking structure as well as the elevator to the higher levels.

"Kamikaze Zulu?" I had no idea what she just said, to be honest.

She opened the door, and the sound of motorcycles being revved resounded through the structure.

"Vintage Bikers. The Real ones hang out in Tokyo and are awesome fun. Mariko was a part of the gang while she lived there." She shrugged her jacket off her shoulders, and I noticed that the dress that she wore was sleeveless as she did so. Her arms were extremely well toned, something I hadn't noticed before, and she actually had a rather large tattoo on her left arm that reminded me of an "S" with either native or polynesian imagery embedded in it. The sound of motorcycles was closer now, and I could hear what sounded like a combination of English and Japanese being spoken in extremely aggressive tones.

"Wait, Mariko's in trouble with a Biker Gang?" I asked incredulously. Maybe I should have gone back for help.

"The real ones are more Cosplayers than killers." Akari nodded as the last corner came into view. The sound of motorcycles being revved was right around the corner, and the voices were becoming more and more raised.

"But these aren't the real ones." I observed.
