No show from the bro

Marcus had arrived at the meeting spot that they both agreed to meet at a few days ago. He saw that David hasn’t arrived yet so he decided to sit around and play on his phone to pass the time. Pausing the game Marcus saw that almost half an hour has passed and David still hasn’t arrived. Going to his messages he opens it up to see if he got anything to explain why David wasn’t here yet.

Seeing nothing Marcus sent a quick message asking where he was and if he was going to show up. While waiting for an answer from him Marcus decided to head over to that pizza place that Grace asked him to get food from. A few minutes of walking he ended up in front of the restaurant but stopped seeing that it wasn’t opened yet but would be in around a few minutes.

Feeling his pocket buzz he took out his phone to see that he got a text from David. Sitting down at one of the tables that were out in front and opened up the text. He saw that David had said that he was sorry that he didn’t show up like they wanted to. David said that his family had to leave earlier than expected due to his dad’s work needing him over there earlier than they expected.

After reading it he was a little sad that he couldn’t get to spend one more day with his friend but he understood. Spending a text back saying that he understands that stuff happens and hopes that everything goes well with his new place. Putting his phone away Marcus heard a ding of a bell and looked up to see that owner opened the door.

Marcus walked inside after the owner put a door stop in, placed his order but was told that he would have to wait awhile so the oven could heat up. He was alright with waiting he sent a text to Grace saying that he would be home earlier and that he was bringing home food that she wanted. Receiving no text back Marcus figured she probably either busy or was taking a nap.

Around two hours later Marcus was almost back home with a box of fresh hot pizza in one hand and in the other a bag of fresh tomato bread, garlic knots, and boneless chicken. Marcus was thinking on what he was going to do for the rest of the day since most of what he had planned was supposed to be with David. But he pushed those thoughts out of the way once he was in front of the path that lead to the house.

Getting to the front door he carefully moved the box of pizza to his other arm to open the door. After opening the door he walked into the kitchen and placed the food on the counter. Marcus was about to call out for Grace when he looked at the living room and saw something that truly surprised him.
