“Under the circumstances, what value is there in taking anyone with us?” asks Stewart. “If we cannot have bodyguards without risking the mission, would it not be better to go alone?”

Adella considers this. “There is wisdom to what you say, brother, although I confess that it causes me no small amount of concern. I have never been away from the palace without being accompanied.”

“You shall be accompanied — by me,” he proclaims.

Adella laughs. “And you will be my lady-in-waiting and help me dress and prepare for bed?”

Stewart again fights the unbidden carnal thoughts that race through his head. “I think you’re old enough to put yourself to bed, sister.”

“Very well. In appreciation for this trust you place in me, I will put my trust in you. I am in your hands.” She again embraces her brother and gives him a kiss on the cheek. She then hurries to her bedchambers to prepare for the journey, thankfully leaving before realizing what her words and actions have triggered between Stewart’s legs.

The king adjusts his erection that fights uncomfortably to escape the confines of his trousers. “I’d better get my hormones under control before venturing off with Adella. I must be getting **** if I’m getting so turned on by my own sister!”
