Six months after her birth you get Melissa secretly tested and find out she isn't yours. Agnes is pissed that you had the test done and found out she tricked you. She goes on a drunken bar hopping fuck fest. The night ends at 4:30 a.m. with her crashing her Mercedes into the living room of the Circuit Court Judge. The Honorable Judge Patricia Marie Higgins-Smith (sister-in-law to Ashley's father) is quite pissed. It is unknown if she is angry because Agnes almost killed her prized and beloved poodle or that she missed Mr. Smith who was drunk and asleep on the sofa two feet from where the car stopped.

She has a busy day as Tom Bradley was also a guest of her jail the night before on double homicide charges and reckless endangerment. At around 10 p.m. he was driving Ashley's father's brand new Lincoln Navigator and doing the only things he does well, drinking and fighting with Ashley. He was so distracted yelling at Ashley that he slammed into a parked semi truck. He then bounced his SUV into a compact car driven by an elderly man. He pushes the car into a tree and the impact of the larger vehicle or the tree kills the old man and his wife.

The truck was owned more by the bank than by its driver, your old friend Bobby Wilson. It was parked in front of his father's house with Bobby taking a nap in the sleeper after visiting his Dad and before he had to go back on the road. Bobby wakes with a startle. He jumps out of his wrecked and burning truck. He cuts the seat belts that held the child seat in and lifts it and the crying baby out of the rear seat. With his free hand he grabs the hand of the screaming, bleeding, young woman and leads her away from the SUV. Your mother runs out from your house (next door) with first aid supplies and cleans up the cuts of the young blonde woman and soothes the unhappy little boy.

Bobby and his Dad help the cops subdue the belligerent Tom who left the SUV after it caught fire. Douglas Smith arrives within minutes as Ashley was calling him at the time of the crash. She tells him that Bobby saved her and baby Matt from the burning Lincoln. After Tom was hauled away and the burning wrecks were extinguished, Mr. Smith tells Bobby that he may be out of a job and a truck but he will be well taken care of at his new job at Smith Trucking.

As the paperwork from the test wasn't filed at the time of Agnes' drunken crash, you get full custody of Melissa. Without Agnes you need to get a job. You go to your town's only fast food place and find Karen working there. You go to work there when your not working with your Uncle. With Agnes in jail you and Karen see more of each other to share in child care duties while the other is at work. People comment on how cute the redheaded "twins" are so often that you and Karen soon quit correcting them.
