"I didn't see anything! I just saw the jacket and thought it was suspicious..."
Dean scoffed. "And your first instinct was to call us? To report a fucking jacket? I oughtta fine you for wasting our time..."
He angrily tossed the jacket into his vehicle and left the scene, leaving Annie completely dumbfounded. For now, all leads to Nina's (and everyone else's) disappearance had been severed. What was the point of vigilante justice if she was just going to be a bystander?
Perhaps, she thought, it was time to give this crimefighting gig up.
