Chapter 21 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

Morning time

New Reality

In a movie, there would've been a rooster crowing when I awoke. Rays of sunlight peeked through the window in my bedroom as I blinked my eyes, waking up at my usual time of 6 AM. I felt weight keeping my down on the bed, and then I remembered that I wasn't alone. I wasn't with one other person either. Both Emily and Becca were cuddled up to me. They weren't on top of me anymore, but the three of us were spooning with me in the middle, Becca in front of me, and Emily behind me.

I couldn't keep my relationship with Emily a secret forever. I would need to talk to the other 7 people here, and then what? Would Mary's plans to get with me be fast-tracked? Maybe even Paige? I now understood what Becca was talking about when she said something about "putting up with us all", because while putting up with them as friends wasn't as difficult as she probably thought it would be, making time for all of them as girlfriends was something else.

Why did I have to get involved in all of this? Not that I didn't love having two girlfriends, especially two of them that I loved so dearly, but it wasn't all hearts and roses like people would think it is.

My thoughts were interrupted by Becca stretching her arms up as she woke up too. She turned around to face me.

"Aww, look at you two," she said. Even though she was whispering, I could still make out the endearing tone in her voice. "You're like the cutest couple ever. Mmm...wait. Correction: Second-cutest couple ever."

Even with the minimal sunlight, I could tell she was smirking as she said that.

"mrrmm-t-rim-wa?" emanated from Emily as she likely started waking up.

"Good morning, Emily," I said to her, turning over to face her.

"Mm...I could get used to waking up like this," she said, hooking a leg around me and pulling me in for a deep kiss. Seconds, minutes passed by as the two of us explored every possible square inch of each other's mouths several times over. After breaking apart, Emily's face was beaming with delight, excitement, euphoria, basically every positive emotion under the sun.

"After something like that," Emily said, eyes staying closed for quite some time, "you better know damn well that I'm never gonna leave you."

"And neither will I," Becca echoed. I flipped over once again to face her, her orange locks running every which way, framing her beautiful freckled face perfectly. She also pulled me in for a kiss, although hers was a lot less aggressive than Emily's. I chalked it up to Becca being older and being with me for a longer time, whereas Emily was young and excited all the time.

"Wow, you two are the best," I said after coming up for air. "Seriously, any guy would be lucky to have two amazing gals like you in his life, especially this close."

"Aww, no you're the best for letting me be part of this," Emily returned. "And so are you, Becca, this wouldn't be possible without you."

That kicked off a lot of romantic, intimate banter between the three of us. I was a bit surprised how well Emily slotted right in to the existing rapport, but because I'd known her for so long, and she'd been very close to the two of us for some time now, it wasn't all that far-fetched.

"Hey, John, you do know that you have to tell everyone else about what happened, right?" Becca eventually said, reminding me of what I was thinking about earlier.

"Ugh, don't remind me," I groaned. My stomach was already doing cartwheels thinking about it. It wasn't that I didn't like talking about difficult topics, it was just this specific topic was excruciatingly difficult, especially with this group of women.

"Hey, don't think of it like that, find the positive in it!" Emily said with her characteristic youthful optimism, even though she was only a few years younger. "After that, we can be together in public all we'd like!"

"I just don't know how some of them are going to take it," I resigned. "I imagine most, if not all, of them would be okay with it, but some people might be questioning. Like Paige. A few days ago, she was a little suspicious of me taking all of you, which is fair. If you saw a guy with 9 girls, wouldn't you be a bit suspicious?"

"I guess, but it's not like we all don't trust you," Becca assured.

"I know, I'm probably just overthinking this, but it's a big deal," I said, finishing my little spiel.

"Just get it over with sooner rather than later," Emily advised. "Then you don't have to keep thinking about it."

"I'm gonna go start whipping up breakfast," Becca said. "Care to join me, Emily?"

"Of course!" she replied. The two of them each left the room, not before giving you a quick kiss on the cheek, leaving you to think about how to bring this up.
