Murky Swamp

Having suddenly appeared in a strange swamp, you try to calm yourself to this new surrounding you are currently in. You hear three female screams, you turn to see Katie, Mrs. Kline and your mom, each had a terrified look on their faces.

“ Where are we? Jay, what did you do,” Katie said.

“I have no idea, the last thing I remember is grabbing that red jewel that was inside my vase,” You say.

And with that, you remember the jewel, and you look down at your open hand to see that very jewel, but then it suddenly starts to glow. You don’t know what to make of the jewel, when suddenly it melts into your skin and disappears, as though it was absorbed by your body. You are shocked at what you have just witnessed, not sure what to make of it.

“ What was that?” Katie asked.

“You saw that too!” you ask Katie.

“Of course I saw that, it looked like your skin just absorbed that jewel, how is that possible and how are we in this swamp, when only seconds earlier we were sitting in the living room? Mom! Would you two stop screaming, it is not helping,” Katie yells to her mother, and Mrs. Kline, trying to stop their screaming.

"But where are we?” Your mom asks.

As all three women turn to you in hopes of any sort of answer, you try to give the best response that you can.

“ I am not completely sure but, I believe that new vase I had just brought home today had some sort of red jewel inside it, and after I broke the vase and grabbed the jewel , immediately a mist begin to arise.” You say.

“Yes, I remember seeing a mist,” Mrs. Kline says.

You continue, "Yes that’s right, and when the mist cleared we were here in this swamp,” you say as you try to stay balanced in the foot deep murky water, "now I know this may sound very strange and unbelievable, but I think we were teleported to this place through the mist.”

“Ha ha ha, you are joking right? That is completely impossible,” Mrs. Kline says.

“Exactly, that's impossible Jay… maybe we were **** and brought here or something,” Katie says.

“Jay how could you let this happen goddamn it,” your mom asks, as she starts to get very angry.

You again try your best to calm everyone down , and at the same time figure out what to do next.

"We were never **** Katie, the mist did indeed transport us here. If that doesn’t satisfy any of you, then we will just have to deal with it later, right now let’s try to get out of this swamp and on to some dry land, judging by the dimming light in the sky, I would say night will be here shortly. So let’s just accept that we are in a swamp for right now, that way we can get out of this mess, agreed?” you ask the three.

As all three ladies agreed to let how everyone got in the swamp go for now, you put your fascination with adventures to the test. You immediately notice that there is a slight current to the swamp, though you’re not sure whether to go up or down stream.
