Mom is waiting for me at the house

I went through the city in the bus, looking around at all of the places that this city had to offer - it was afternoon so the city looked cool as the sun was setting down.

I finally reached the bus stop at the park near my house and had to walk two blocks to get there. When i entered my neighborhood i noticed that there were some trucks outside of my home - it wasn't unusual since we were still setling in the new house and we had to hire a bunch of services for multiple purposes.

The door was open so i entered my home to see some guys in uniform running around the house - they were probably installing something but i didn't know what. I decided to go to my room and get changed but when i did i saw mom waiting for me at the door.

As i got closer to my room i looked at her and said "Hey mom, what's going on?" She smiled and replied "Hi sweetheart, how was your first day of school?" I tried entering my room before i replied but she got in my way.

"Ummm can you let me go to my room?" I asked her, she shook her head and said "Not yet, i have a surprise for you... first tell me how your day was"

Ok... there is somethint suspicious going on here i thought but i still didn't question it and replied to mom "Well, it was great... i met some people and explored the campus... It's HUUUGE, like seriously, it took me like 20 minutes to walk around it... apart from meeting everyone and having a long and boring speech from the principal we didn't do much"

"Oh that's good... i thought that maybe for surviving your first day of school, you deserve a reward... sooo" she got out of the way and allowed me to enter my room.

When i entered my room, the first thing i saw was that it was fully decorated with old posters i had but the main atraction was the tv placed in the wall next to me - it was medium but perfect for watching tv or playing games while i lay down on my bed.

There was also a big desk for a computer at the left of my bed - my bedroom was big so there was still a lot of space even after the new things in my room. I turned around to look at mom and said to her "Holy cow, what is all this?"

She looked at me with a pleasant smile and then Annie's door opened - she came out of her bedroom and saw us talking, mom invited her to the conversation by saying "Hey honey, your brother returned from school and had a great day, why don't you come here to talk to him"

I looked at Annie's face as mom said that - she had a disgusted expression but she thought about it for a second before letting a sigh and approaching me. She stepped inside my room and said to me "Hi dork... how was your day?"

Whaaaaaaat!! Did that just happen? Did my sister ask about my day?? What happened to her? She is not my sister... what is going on? Is this the real world? I asked myself. It was so confusing seeing my sister like that - she was acting with the same bored and disinterested attitude that she always had but now for the first time in months she asked about my day Actually she has never even said hi to me in like a year and a half i said in my mind.

"Uhhhh... hi, i'm good... how are... wait why are you acting like that?" i asked her because i didn't know the source of this sort of behavior from her. She looked at her room and i decided to head there to see that she also had nice decoration and a medium tv on her wall.

"Oooh that makes sense" i exclaimed before mom said "I bought the last things for the house and thought that maybe you two should have nice things in your rooms so... here we are"

She smiled while looking at me and my sister - after a while of akward silence i decided to complain "Mom, i appreciate all of this but... that must have been expensive and we are not in the best position to make this types of..."

My mom stopped me mid-sentence and said "No no, don't worry about that... trust me, just accept this reward for deciding to go to school and enjoy it, you deserve it"

I tried to argue saying "But, you already gave me money and... well i guess it's done so there's much to do about it... b-but why Ann gets the same things as me?" I pointed at Annie and she looked at me like i offended her.

Mom said "Well it would be unfair to give you all of these things so i thought that Ann should get a nice tv too" she smiled at Annie and surprisingly she gave her a smile back. WHAAAT! Annie smiled?! At mom?! She must be doing it because she just got a tv in her room... i see your intentions Annie, you always try to use people for your benefit i said to myself.

I looked at mom and said to her "Well mom thanks for these things, i don't think it was the best financial decision but anyways... thank you for doing this" - she seemed to like my reply and like before in the mall she placed her hand on her chest and said "Aww, thank you sweetie... i'm glad you liked it" then she grabbed me and gave me a giant hug.

After she gave me that hug i looked at Annie, who was watching us akwardly because our hug lasted way too long. I stared at my sister for a while and then i said jokingly "What? Do you want to hug me as well?" She chuckled and said "You know i would never do that but be thankful that i didn't hit you because i have a new tv"

I said to her "You don't deserve that and you know it... you don't even go to college, what are you doing with your life?" As i asked her she clearly got triggered and yelled "THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS IDIOT!!" She furiously went back to her room and closed the door with an incredible amount of **** that it looked like it was going to break the hinges.

Oh yeah, that was the Annie i knew i thought before mom said to me "Andrew, you know you can't say that to your sister... she gets really sensible with that topic so i would appreciate if you stopped doing it" i nodded at her and said "I understand mom, sorry... i just had to do it"

After that i went to my room and continued my day like normal - i took a quick shower and went to get dinner. After having dinner i went to sleep but before i fell asleep i browsed through social media and talked with some of my new friends.

Alright that was a nice day, hopefully tomorrow is a good day... now i need to rest and wait for next day. I said to myself and went to sleep, excited for my new school and meeting more people.
