Mindy follows along, but first she also has to take off her shoes

"Another thing is your footwear: it's not permitted."

Mindy looked down, a bit surprised.

"I thought high heels were okay."

"For some men, they are, but the master of the house likes women to be barefoot."

So that's why Mrs. Winthrop was wearing only barefoot sandals on her feet, Mindy thought.

Mrs. Winthrop's feet looked good and well cared for.

"There are a few footbaths and towels around the estate for the female domestics."

"Okay," said Mindy as she slipped off of her high heels, feeling slightly weirder.

Normally, this wouldn't be too odd for Mindy, but the charge she was already getting in having to bare her breasts and genitalia exposed was enhanced further by having to go barefoot.

Pointing to the discarded high heels, Mrs. Winthrop said, "You will have to take those—as well as the bra and panties—away before the end of the day—don't let the master see them."

"Okay."

"Now put this on your left foot," said Mrs. Winthrop, handing her a beaded anklet. "All the maids have to wear these."

Mindy in compliance knelt down and put the anklet on. The beads where a little smaller than acorns—comfortable enough, but also just snug enough to generally stay around ankle level.

Then looking more at Mindy's feet. "Those pretty feet should never be shod."

Mrs. Winthrop moved her head along to face Mindy as she stood up again.

"Well, we got you looking good: bare breasts, bare bottoms, and bare feet. Keep it that way and the master will be pleased."
