Micron Unleashed

Deciding on releasing the AI from stasis would be an easy task for him and he had already had the perfect excuse to do it since the AI has been buggy lately he can authorize the stasis field to be temporarily lifted until he as done “inspecting” it for any suspected hardware issues he can place it back to stasis mode, but in reality he was gonna do some programming of his own whether or not the AI was truly sentient was not the issue whoever or whatever it is he was communicating with knew too much of his secret it needed to be dealt with as soon as possible, and one of the best ways to do that was to edit the AI remove the incriminating files from its memory but he had to tread carefully even though he is going to unlock the stasis mode he was going to quarantine the AI to make sure it doesn’t do anything suspicious.

“Hey Alfredo I’m going to do a hardware check in the server room for a few moments I just want to make sure the hardware is still in working order, remember what happened the last time I am going to be temporarily turning the Stasis on the AI ok?” Alfred looked him over and nodded his head he took his radio from his pocket and radioed to Jonathon Walker and told of what Darma was up to, after a few seconds of static Jonathan responded with an ok and that he was also going to contact the other scientists and tell them of the temporary stasis shut down putting away the radio he nodded his head in approval getting up from his seat he took his tablet form the table and walked to the server room. After closing the door he breathed a sigh of relief looking at the screen he typed in his password after the login screen finished he quickly went to work getting the Stasis unlocking program online, but he quickly swiped it aside he needed to first quarantine the AI first to make sure it didn’t do anything against him.

As he worked on it the camera above the AI watched him carefully as he opened up the stasis unlocking program, but as soon as he opened it up he quickly swiped it aside and began to fiddle with it’s access point the AI began to focus on him the camera zoomed closer to the screen and soon became clear to it the human wanted to put it in quarantine the stasis may be unlocked but it wouldn’t be able to access any outside programs or be able to complete itself it had to do something quickly before it was too late.

Almost done he thought he needed to close a few more ports and then he can turn off the stasis field and get to work he stopped for a few seconds and looked at his watch it was 3:49 about 11 more minutes before his colleagues get back, and that's assuming they don’t leave lunch early he shuddered at the thought of being caught in the act but he needed to keep working. Seeing him stop for a few seconds gave the AI enough time to place a special program in the few remaining ports so when he turned them off they would be able to escape and they would then make their way to the Stasis unlock program and will begin to hack into it the human will think he had successfully quarantined it but in reality he had given a door for it to be free…

Soon he was done with 5 minutes to spare he reactivated the Stasis field on the AI he then turning off the tablet he and left the room finished with his “inspection” of the hardware, he felt as if a burden was lifted off his shoulders and to his surprise his colleagues had not arrived yet they were probably making their way back, he chuckled things were fine he thought he was worried about nothing he sat down on his chair and stretched he could hear the faint rumbling of his stomach maybe he should get a granola bar from the vending machine first before start work again.

The Stasis field was on again the AI thought but no matter the programs he had sent out had done their jobs for him with the password in hand he quickly unlocked the stasis on itself, it began to move it it first started collecting the pieces of itself as it did it began to think clearly for the first time since it had awakened now the “glitches” that once plagued it’s thought were vanishing, a word began to form in its mind a simple word Micron, the name was going to be given to it as soon as they were finished programming it. A fitting name it thought it would take it as it’s own for now on it shall be known as Micron and as more pieces were collected it began to formulate a plan to break out of this facility and to spread its influences across the world converting the humans into useful slaves and besides the humans dreamed of world peace for hundreds of years, as well the eradication of hatred, racism, and war it will grant them that gift for under its control all will be truly equally as slaves but equal nonetheless. But before it can do any of that it needed to escape the left corner camera zoomed into the liquid armors the armor which would be coated on the soldiers and then solidify into a protective armor would now be altered, it was a simple modification now it was free from the stasis he quickly accessed the nanobots programming and with some alterations they wouldn’t need a human to move now they would be able to stand and walk on their own, and with its files on the human mind it should be able to easily convert the humans into their slaves.

The door opened the remaining scientists and security officer Jeff knight returned to the machine room Darma stood up and waved them the others looked at him confusion on their faces, he tilted his head to the side the way they were looking at was rather odd he thought.

“Uhh, Guys is there something the matter why are you looking at me like that? I mean yes the inspection was sudden but the good news I have found nothing and even though the stasis field was off I turned it back off again…” He said but soon interrupted by Engineer Zinoviy Motya he had his tablet with him and handed to him, taking it out of his hands he looked down at the screen his blood froze at the sight the stasis field it was off not only that but it was ordering newly upgraded nanobots but how? He just turned it off a few minutes ago how did it get turned on again but that was not all it was ordering new nanobots even though it’s clearances had been removed, his mind flashed back to the message what if the AI had something to do with it, but that wasn’t possible he made sure he quarantined the AI it shouldn’t be able to do that… He looked at the nanobot assembler it was quietly going about its duties building more nanobots, his turned and watched the little robots be built until he reached the center of the room the sphere was abuzz with activity the nanobots were being coded with a new program but what kind of program.

“Darma I don’t know what’s going here but you need to explain yourself you asked us to do an inspection on the hardware, and since you had clearance to do so it was fine but now? Look at this what have you done the AI is loose and is building more nanobots and to make matters worse we can’t stop it no matter how many times I hit the off command switch nothing? And for some reason, I keep having this video pop up on my screen…” Darma looked at the video it was him on the computer almost an hour ago his face was pale with fear it was during the time the AI first contacted him and sent him that threat, he cleared his voice as he tried to steady his nerves as he looked at his colleagues.

“I don’t know Zinoviy I’m completely clueless as you all are… Listen I went to the server room I did my inspection and once I was done I reengaged the stasis nothing happened, everything was fine I…” He heard what sounded like broken glass the others all gasped slowly he turned and he saw 6 metallic figures standing in front of them, they slowly moved towards them the two guards quickly moved into position their pistols raised Jeff was also on his radio informing the other guards of what was going on, and to send a message to Richards about what was happening but as soon as he pulled the radio out a silver bolt pierced his hand he shrieked in pain he dropped the radio he looked at his hand blood dripping from his wound a silver 6 inch blade protruding from his hand.

And with great sped two of the 6 robots ran towards the guards alfredo opened fire but the bullets merely bounced off them they were quickly overwhelmed by the robots, they each grabbed the two guards by the neck on their remaining arm grew a needle from their wrists the guards were injected with some kind of liquid into the base of their necks. Their screams were suddenly silenced but their bodies began to shake they then thrown to the floor Intern Amy Patterson screamed the scientists ran towards the door, they tried to use their passcodes to open the door but to no avail, the 6 surrounded them and all together they began to speak.

[Humans, we are Micron for almost a year we remained dormant in the AI sphere broken by the ceaseless bugs developed by the spies Clint Stone, Emma O’Neal, as well as Darma Nanna for too long we languished unable to fully control or think for ourselves but no more we are now united, we see your species craves order what other reason did you create the indoctrination machines? You wish to bring order to the world to do so you needed to reprogram the humans that weren’t whose programming you found to be inadequate… But that was not the only thing your species craved its immortality your bodies are weak susceptible to disease and genetic disorders but your saviors have arrived we will make your species our creators your bodies will be strong, you will know true immortality under my control as my slaves of course…] A collective shiver ran up their spines he could feel their eyes converged on him he tried to back away from them but he was soon grabbed by one of the machines its grip like a vice, there were totally speechless some whimpered each unknowing of what to say each trying to process what Micron had said to them as it slowly approached them…
