Mia, and the now evolved Gabby

Still blinded, I began walking out of the cave, when I feel a tap on my shoulder, and I turned to see a girls chin, and I looked up to see Mia, looking down at me in confusion.

"Since when were you so short?" She asked, confirming me and Karla's suspicion.

"I have no clue! I didn't notice it until just earlier!" I stammered in slight fear.

"Ah, okay. You up for a battle though? Me and Mia got a lot stronger and we have a new friend you should meet!" Mia said, backing up and grabbing a pokeball.

"Okay, maybe it will put my mind off this whole shrinking thing." I accepted, gesturing Karla to step in front of me for battle.

Mia returned Gabby to her ball, and threw a pokeball onto the ground. Out came a woman, around the same height as Mia, wearing a pink jacket with a white, fluffy trim which looked like her hair, which was very voluminous, draping past her shoulders,. She had two large cone-shaped earmuffs, and a black tail with a blue orb at the end. I pulled out my Pokedex and scanned her.

'Flaaffy, the Wool Pokemon

Flaaffy is the evolution of Mareep, and is often sought out for its fluffy hair. with its thick fur, it can generate large amounts of static which it uses to shock attackers.'

I immediately recognized the bad matchup, but I didn't really want to switch into Sophia, so I told Karla to use Tackle. And Karla bashed the Flaaffy with her shoulder, and Flaaffy got knocked back a few feet, before sending out a bolt of electricity, and I heard Karla cry as she fell to the ground. I ran up and rubbed her soft face, which she responded with a slight smile before returning her to her pokeball, sending out Sophia as I had no other options.

Sophia immediately turned to me, with a look of sadness, much to my surprise, perhaps she had a change of mind. She then stuck her vines in the ground, before growing to a massive size, my eye line only meeting her bust. I once again saw no vines appear behind Flaaffy, but I dismissed it because she was quite distant.

Flaaffy sent out another bolt, but it seemed to barely even affect Sophia, as she shrugged off the hit and bashed Flaaffy to the ground, and Mia sent out Gabby.

In her evolved form, Gabby now wore two silk gloves on each hand, with sharp fins protruding from each one. and she now had a tail which broke off into a shark fin.

The biggest difference was the last time I saw her she was far shorter than me, but now she stood around my height, which meant that even excluding my shrinking, she must have grown a good bit.

Gabby immediately burrowed underground, and this time Sophia had an idea, she lifted herself into the air with her vines, and as soon as Gabby lept out of the ground, the vines set down sophia, and lashed at Gabby, immediately knocking her out.

"Wow!" Mia exclaimed, "Sophia sure has gotten strong!" noting her increased stature.

"Well good battle, lets walk to the Pokemon Center together!"Mia requested, rubbing my hair to my disliking.

Before we left, Sophia walked up to me.

"Hey, you forgot to put my back in the ball." She reminded.

"Why are you reminding me?" I asked, "Don't you hate it in there?"

"If you really feel that unsafe around me, I'll be fine..." Sophia said, staring at the dirt.

"Sophia, I don't hate you," I insisted, "You're my partner, I want to move past this as much as you do." I said, butting her pokeball back on my belt.

Sophia looked at me with a grin, and we began walking to the next town.

Our group walked through a large tunnel, and on the other side was a urban city, skyscrapers forming a maze all around us.

"Wow, this must be New Celadon!" Mia exclaimed excitedly, gazing up at the tall buildings.

We walked into a blue and red building, which seemed to be a combination of both a Pokemon Center and Shop.

After Gabby, Karla, and the Flaaffy healed up, Mia suggested,

"Hey, I heard this city has some really good cafes, want to go together?"

"Sure, why not." I responded, smiling up at Mia.

We arrived at a cafe, and I sent out both of my Pokemon.

I was surprised to see that both Sophia and Karla looked even taller, Sophia now being taller than me, and she seemed to take some pleasure in that.

"Wow Mark, I must be getting pretty strong! But now that I'm looking, weren't you taller than Mia?" Sophia commented,

"Yeah I seem to be shrinking, you know anything about this?" I asked.

"No, why would I?" Sophia responded, defensively, slightly averting her gaze.

"Oh yeah, Karla I noticed you evolved, man you're tall now! I hope your brain grew too!" Sophia mocked.

Karla simply ignored her, much to Sophia's displeasure, and Karla walked over to me.

"My, Mark, I think you shrunk again!" Karla commented, noticing my eye line was now even closer to her cleavage.

Disregarding my shrinking, my party and Mia's sat down at a large booth, when I asked,

"So Mia, who's this new Flaaffy? She's pretty strong!"

The Flaaffy blushed, and responded,

"Oh I guess we haven't been introduced, my name is Claudia" She said, extending her hand.

I shook her hand, and we began to chat.

"So, I assume this town has a gym?" I asked,

"Yeah, its supposedly fire type, so me and Gabby should do just fine, and Karla would probably take it down easy" Mia replied.

"But you know, I don't really care about badges too much, I mostly want to have fun!" Mia added.

I thought about what Mia was saying, did I really want to be champion? I suppose having an objective would bring our team closer together, so I decided I would keep trying.

As I pondered a barista came up to us with 6 drinks and a dish of sandwiches.

We began eating, with a little bit of conversation in between, and when Mia finished, she asked,

"So, you plan on going to a doctor to figure your shrinking out? Do you have any clue if or when it will stop?"

"I should actually, and no I don't know anything, but I sure hope I don't get too small."

"I dunno, I think having a doll sized master would be pretty cool!" Karla added, leaning her head onto my shoulder.

The simple thought of being that small terrified me. I obviously trusted my pokemon and Mia, but I would basically be sub-human at that size.

eager to shift the conversation to something else, I asked,

"So Mia, if you dont really want to take on the Pokemon League, then what are you gonna do?"

"I don't know, honestly! I am thinking Pokemon contests, but i honestly am unsure at this point"

I noticed Sophia had finished her sandwich, and was eyeing my half finished one. The sandwich was not very large, but the combination of my decrease in stature and the fear of shrinking further led to me not having much of an appetite.

I slid the sandwich to Sophia, and she beamed at me with a grin and scarfed it down.

After lunch at the cafe, we headed over to the gym.
