Chapter 3
by Yabusa
Which robotic design interests you for phase binding?
Meteor X power armor
The Meteor X is an iterative humanoid armor unit, with a variety of uses. Unlike some of Yabusa Robotics' more bizarre or outlandish ideas for machines to combine with people, the Meteor X is one of the more palatable for most, as when in use, it merely looks like a person is wearing metallic armor.
The truth, of course, is not so simple! The Meteor X is the tenth variant of what began originally as military androids, designed to drop from high altitudes and land without a parachute. Initial reports of the Meteor I are best summed up by one of the Yabusa engineers who witnessed the first test: "The Meteor fell just fine. The landing was the problem."
Meteors II through V improved greatly on the first design, but once the Meteor androids could walk after landing, the AI proved to be the next challenge. As with much of Yabusa's designs, their artificial intelligence programming just could not keep up with the software from other companies. If the androids had to distinguish between 'red team' and 'blue team' in a basic geometric obstacle course, they seem to be mostly successful in their tasks. In a simulated but near-real environment with actual soldiers and civilians, the androids were dangerously incompetent at even the most basic tasks they were assigned.
The Meteor V was the last unit that Yabusa attempted to keep as a fully autonomous android, prior to the phase binding tech. The initial test of phase binding reportedly used a Meteor V, phasing between the bulkier motors and servos and power distribution and the more human center, such that a human head was all that was really present on the outside of the android, with the android's actual head gone. With only a helmet necessary for the human side, the Meteor V proved itself to be a very capable machine, so long as it was a human at its center.
With the premise of phase binding, Meteor VI through IX became more streamlined without sacrificing power, as much of the actual power and bulk could be moved out of phase, leaving a metallic frame that almost looked nearly skintight for the users, to the point where a person in Meteor armor could wear normal clothing over the top of the armor plating in many instances. The Meteor X became the most versatile armor of the bunch, able to be configured in multiple ways for just powered arms/legs and leaving a normal fleshy torso intact with basic armor plating, or a full mechanical body from the neck down. In addition, Meteor X armor can slot into external 'overdrive' modules, for bulkier arms, legs, torsos, and shoulders that all add extra strength and features at the expense of a streamlined appearance.
The usefulness of the Meteor X armor with all that configurability made it both useful for military and law enforcement purposes, but also construction, heavy lifting, and other challenging and physically straining jobs. Spaceflight is one of the next realms that Yabusa Robotics is exploring, as well. One of the most interested parties in Meteor X armor is a search and rescue outfit that can search rapidly on the ground in **** environments for lost or stranded individuals in hazardous conditions. This search and rescue team also happens to be on the lookout for another of their kind--one of the missing Yabusa women from the earlier tech conference wore a demo model of the Meteor X.
Given all this information, are you a user of this versatile armor set? And what sort of things do you intend to do with it?
How will you use your Meteor X power armor?

Phasebound
Combining people with machines, supernatural relics, strange beings, or other people!
Yabusa Robotics and Motors had always been behind Hideki Technology's innovative devices, but a new breakthrough in a non-surgical means of combining robots and people changed the course of the tech company almost overnight. With Phase Binding, skin and silicon can exist in the same area in space, miraculously developing a means of electronic and biological connections with intuitive control and unprecedented sensory feedback. Because the people and machines can occupy the same space without any ill effects, the functionality of the machines was maximized without diminishing the human within. Despite Yabusa's initial successes with combining people and robots, other companies set their sights on the tech. Shaw Sciences wants to stick people together, Hideki Corp would like to combine people and inhuman creatures together, and King Enterprises has a whole variety of supernatural relics they want to embed within a person. All they had to do was steal the Phase Bind device and put it to their own uses...
