Melissa notices

“Cassie?” Cassandra heard a voice and looked around.

She saw the baby monitor lighting up. “M-mommy?” Cassandra asked as she felt the need to continue playing her role.

“Are you okay?” Melissa asked through the monitor which had alerted her of movement and woke her up.

“I… I was just… thinking,” Cassandra said. “I’m sorry, mommy. I’ll go to sleep now.”

Cassandra laid down and tried to close her eyes but felt tears starting to form. She heard footsteps coming down the hall and positioned herself away from the door as she clutched her stuffed bear. The door opened and Melissa walked in looking concerned.

“Cassie… what’s going on?” Melissa asked knowing something wasn’t quite right.

“N-nothing,” Cassie said with her lip quivering.”

Melissa lowered the crib gate and gently lifted Cassie into her arms. “Hey… why are you crying, baby girl? Are you okay?”

Cassie couldn’t hold the tears back as she clung to Melissa and cried, her shoulders rising and falling as she did. “I…I…”

“Shhh, it’s okay,” Melissa said as she carried Cassie down the hall to her room. “You know… it’s normal to be overwhelmed. It’s important to have breaks during this process. Whether you want to be a baby or you want to be a grown up, either is acceptable. You’re not bound to either in this world.”

Cassie sniffled. “I just… I’m scared…”

Melissa sighed and put Cassie down on the bed and cradled her as she pulled her close. “That’s normal too… I’m guessing you’re scared of what others might think. Of whether your parents will freak out or whether your friends will abandon you. That about right?”

Cassie nodded. “Y-yeah…”

“That’s very common. This community… the stuff that we do is very scary. People are judgemental. People don’t understand. And the thing that affects us the most are our family members…” Melissa said.

“Did you go through this?” Cassandra asked.

Melissa took a deep breath. “My father abandoned me when I was 6 years old. My mother kicked me out at 16 after I came out to her… My life has never been easy. But that doesn’t mean it’s always been depressing. I think the trauma of being abandoned by my parents is ultimately what pushed me to join the ABDL community. Much like you I craved being treated like a child again. But then I knew that my desire wasn’t that but to have a daughter or little of my own that I could show love to that my parents never could to me.”

“So why no actual kids?” Cassie asked. “Why me? I’m 28 almost 30… I can’t be your little girl.”

Melissa smiled and said. “I don’t need you to be. I’m not wanting to be an actual mom because… well I’m not able to be one… if you know what I mean. I’ve accepted that. And it’s fine… but I like the ability to pretend. It’s also less of a commitment. Besides having a little can be more flexible than a real baby.”

“So would it be weird if we had a romantic relationship too? N-not that I want that but like if I’m your ‘kid’ then it would be weird to date right?”

Melissa laughed. “It’s not weird because we’re not actually related and you’re not actually a kid. Think of this as all make believe. You can act like a 5 year old but you’re still 28 and you can’t change that. You might act like my kid, but you will never actually be mine… so yes dating is common in this sphere because it’s all fake. It doesn’t make people pedophiles or anything, just wanting to have something they couldn’t as a kid or now.

Usually what people do is that they take cycles so let’s say you want to act like a baby and I’m a mother. I wouldn’t have sex with you or kiss you like a girlfriend or wife would. But once you’re in your adult mindset and acting like a 28 year old, it’s perfectly fine for us to then kiss and make out because you’re not acting like a kid. Also it depends on your boundaries.”

Cassie nodded. “T-thanks…”
