Meeting new friends

“Well, it’s nice to meet you Amber….” Lisa said with a sweet smile on her face. “Is that for college?”

“What for college?” Aiden responded, sounding a little confused.

“Um the learning Spanish?” Lisa asked again as she looked at the young women across from her again. *She was a hot little thing* Lisa thought to herself. She could tell from how she was dressed that this girl was used to getting by on her looks. I mean even to do laundry she showed more cleavage than Lisa had in years. Truth be told she actually reminded Lisa of her younger self, before she was married and now divorced.

“Oh I am not going to college” Amber responded “Its for..” Aiden began to panic Why would he be learning Spanish? “It's to make me look good for a job”

“Oh? What's the job?”

Aiden had to act fast to remember his back story. This woman was Victoria’s neighbor; they could already know each other and if she heard two different stories it would destroy their whole plan and all this work would be for nothing. Or even worse, if he told Lisa the wrong story it could get back to Victoria that he didn't remember and she may give up on him, because it appeared he wasn't taking this plan seriously enough. He then looked back at the women across from him as she looked at him confused. He completely just zoned out forgetting he was in the middle of a conversation.

“Oh! Sorry I can be a little spacy!” Amber giggled playing up the ditzy role. He knew that was right. “ So like I just got divorced and” He was cut off

“You can't be old enough to be divorced!”

“Like thanks! But I am. I was soo young! I actually dropped out of high school to be with him. We were together for a few years, but he like left me this last year” Amber said, hoping that it was true to her story.

“What man would be stupid enough to leave a hot little thing like you?”

This part of the story he definitely remembered. It was the part that Victoria has mentioned every chance she could get. “Oh like I um, cheated on him” His cheeks turned a bright red color to match his hair. “I mean I met him when I was like so young and I haven't been with that many guys, I just wanted...to be free. Lisa totally understood this young woman now. She herself got married at 18. And was with her husband for a little over 20 years. Her marriage also began to feel stale but she remained faithful, until the asshole left her for a younger woman. She thought that maybe this new girl could be just the friend she needed to make. Amber put in her quarters and started the machine before heading up to apartment 3B. Lisa took the lead as they walked to the bay of elevators that would take them up to the third floor. I can even pay you like a 100 bucks a day” Aiden couldn’t believe this. His first real job offer in over a year was to be a babysitter! He used to manage over 29 accounts at his last job and now the best he could do is watch one another nosed kid. But he needed the money.

Landon! Honey can you come I. Here please!” Shortly thereafter a twelve-year-old boy with kind of long hair walked out of a back room and into the living room

“This Landon is Amber she is going to be your babysitter on Sunday and Tuesday while I am working at the hospital.”

“Well until you are a little older, I would feel safer having someone else in the house.”

Aiden had never been very good with kids and he wasn’t quite sure of why to do. But he thought the polite thing to do would be to introduce himself to the boy. He stood up and just like Vicky taught him. He strutted over to the young man standing at the edge of the kitchen. After about an hour both women headed back down to the basement to continue on with their chores. Eventually Amber finished her laundry and departed from her new friend after they exchanged numbers and agreed that Amber would be at Lisa’s apartment next Sunday at 8 am to watch Landon.

Finally after a long day Amber returned to Victoria’s apartment with laundry completed.

“There you are!” Victoria yelled as she entered the apartment “I have been looking everywhere for you!”

“Why?” Amber asked confused

“Haven’t you been checking your phone! Your date has been texting you about what you two are doing tomorrow night! I didn’t want to ghost the poor boy so I had to talk to him” that fact made Aiden want to scream. It was never good when his ex talked to a boy for him.

“What? What are you talking about I made a new friendc Lisa in 3B. We met at the machines and she invited me back to her place for some wine and she offered me a job babysitting her kid Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights, she also said I could put her down for a reference if I needed it.”

Victoria you as surprised. In only two days she had turned her ex husband into a woman that was so believable that even a stranger thought she was a woman. “Well that’s great Amber but you have a date to prepare for check your phone.”

Amber took out her phone and saw that she left her headphones plugged in. She now knew why she didn’t hear her phone go off. All the sounds played quietly out of her headphones. She opened up her phone and saw a bunch of unread messages all from Collin.

Collin: Hey babe. Cant stop thinking about you and that show you gave me last night! Looking forward to the real thing tomorrow night ;)

Amber: Me too I am like so excited! But what else are we going to do?

Collin: I was thinking dinner at Soy and then dancing at Spin?

Amber: oh I have always wanted to go to Soy I just love sushi but it’s just been too expensive. And I love dancing

Collin: I bet you really know some moves;) and don’t worry about money I am sure you can find away to repay me

Amber: Oh I can totally make it worth your while! And I defiantly got some moves for you. See you tomorrow night stud.

Aiden felt sick. Not only did he have to go in a date with this kid but he was expected to “repay his date” and after last nights show he knew exactly how his date expected to be repaid.

“Victoria I can’t do this!”

“oh nonsense! I know as Aiden you weren’t much of a dancer but if we work hard tonight, I am sure Amber will be more then impressive with her moves”

“Not dancing! I can’t go I. A date with another man!”

Aiden felt trapped! He has already gone further down this road then he ever planned. And if Vicky kicked him out, he would be on the streets. Looking like this. And that was far worse than anything that would happen o this date… he hoped at least.
