Meet the Head office assistant

Even though she was older than everyone else in the room, you could still notice that she used to be attractive when she was younger.

She sees you looking at her and walks up to you.

Playfully mocking you, she asks you if you are eyeing her up. You defend yourself by replying how you were about to approach her to meet her and was thinking about what questions to ask. Fortunately, she was only joking.

Next came the introductions and you discover that she is the Head office assistant. She seemed interesting so you ask a question to continue your conversation. Too bad you phrased it wrong.

As soon as you asked you noticed that the question irritated her and she took a deep breath before answering with a prepared speech.

To sum it up: in CHYOA ltd. there is a difference between office assistants and secretaries. Office assistants work from cubicles and, apart from answering phones, they help out with anything office or project (if assigned to one) related to any one employee or group of employees. They have to have some knowledge and experience in the field to be hired and they are coordinated by the Head office assistant, who is their boss. Some of the trainees become office assistants. On the other hand you have secretaries or personal assistants, who are assigned to only one employee to whom they solely answer to and do not have to have any experience in the field. She does not know what they do (she mentions with slight disgust in her voice), nor is her business to know.
