Chapter 9 by Bluequoise Bluequoise

Where too next?

Medical Offices

Small talk didn't seem to be Dr. Giles thing, and luckily for you since you had no idea what would count as talking about the weather in your current predicament. So in relative silence you both arrive at the medical facilities quite easily.

The medical rooms themselves we almost identical appearance to any clinical office on earth, you might not even notice if there weren't a very noticeable lack of gravity in the ship right now. Dr. Giles even had to strap you down to keep yourself on the examination bed, which almost made you laugh with the way she taped your wrists and ankles down so that you could stay sitting without any sort of drifting.

Dr. Giles was smooth and efficient in her movements, despite the cold personality you have to admit that she is a very skilled doctor. She collects a total of three vials of blood, various skin and hair samples and several pages in notes as she inspects every aspect of your anatomy with detached observation.

Curiosity rising you finally ask, "Why are you on this ship Doctor? You don't seem very interested in the mission as a whole. And you seem quite comfortable in the clinical setting. So surely there was no shortage of opportunities for you on earth."

Dr. Giles calculated you for a steady minute, "Do the names Frank and Victoriea Giles mean anything to you?"

"Not particularity no. Are they your relatives?"

"Parents. They are...were the leading authorities in genetic sciences. While Victoria was still his intern on ExoJ 01 they mapped the chromosome chains based on their correlative health values. To prove that their maps were accurate they married and then modified the DNA sequences of their own eggs and sperm making each of their five children. By making the modifications before conception they avoided every law and controversy and still gave birth to tangible proof that they were correct. As a result I lived most of my life among the greatest scientific minds of the world."

"Damn..."

"So my whole life story is that of experimentation, I am rather comfortable in this situation. Also I am here in case there is a need to correct genomes in the crew and/or passengers to ensure the success of the mission. My next younger brother is sleeping in the passenger section as back-up in case there where any issues with me waking up. Making us the only sibling pair to make it onto the ship.

"Now I'm going to need a sperm sample Sgt. Jones, so you sit there while extract it please." Dr. Giles changed topics in a remarkably casual way. "Please try to cooperate with me now and this will go much more smoothly."

You on the other hand did not make the transition smoothly, "The hell?"

"I need a sperm sample. Assuming your testicles are active I should be able to gain at least a vial of ejaculation."

"Why would you need that!?!"

Dr. Giles actually found your response amusing. "We are on a colony ship Sargent, where did you expect a future for a colony to come from? Cloning?"

"I...ummm..." You stammer a little as the knowledge sinks in. "I hadn't actually thought about that part. I was still caught up in the idea of being light years away from home and how everyone I knew is probably dead."

"Of course you were, your a soldier not a scientist."

"That's harsh doc."

"Now then, don't be alarmed by this but I don't have the time to find a machine to do this part so I will be giving you a hand job now. Are you fine like this or would you prefer some visual stimulation to help the process?"

How do you anwser?
