Meanwhile, on the Morrigan's observation deck...

Reina and Zav'ra stood on the Morrigan's observation deck, looking out into space. The ship was on its way back to the Spearhead, where the Morrigan was to dock for maintenance and refueling, while waiting for Night and the rest of the Morrigan's recon team to return from Varak. The two had gotten very close since Reina rescued Zav'ra, forming a strong friendship very quickly. They both found themselves very much enjoying each other's company and the talks they'd have.

"How has the rest of the crew been treating you?" Reina asked.

"They've been great! In my entire time with Ronax, I had no real friends, and now I have dozens. It's a welcome change."

"You didn't have any friends?"

A look of sadness crossed Zav'ra's face as she recalled her marriage. "I attended all kinds of events and parties, but I never truly felt accepted. The Maaradanean elite are all about personal gain and image... you were only friends with them as long as they could somehow benefit from it. It's funny -- when I lived in the slums, I'd dreamed of being a noblewoman. It all seemed so glamorous. But even though the slums were poor, we had such a sense of community. I ended up missing my old home, wishing I could go back."

"Surrounded by nothing but a bunch of rich creeps," Reina said. "I don't think I could live like that without going insane."

"It has made me appreciate you and your crew that much more," Zav'ra answered. "The kinship on the Morrigan is everything I've wanted for years."

"I think I can speak for the crew when I say we all consider you one of us," Reina told her. "I know I do."

Zav'ra smiled. "That means a lot to me. I consider you an amazing woman, and friend. Strong, confident, smart, skilled, gorgeous..."

Reina cracked a sly grin. "You think I'm gorgeous, do you?"

"I think most of the crew thinks that," Zav'ra blushed. "You've certainly caught my eye."

Reina liked where this was going. "You're... interested in me?"

"Very interested. What about you? Do you have any interest in me?" Zav'ra asked.

Before Reina could answer, A voice in the room spoke up. "My apologies. I believe I've stumbled in on a private moment."

"Nyra?"

Reina and Zav'ra turned to see Nyra in the observation deck with them. Nyra approached the other two women, both attempting to mask the awkwardness they were feeling. "How long have you been here?" Reina asked.

"I have been here long enough to overhear Zav'ra's confession of romantic feelings towards you," Nyra answered. Zav'ra blushed, looking away.

"Do not be embarrassed, Miss Zav'ra," Nyra said in an attempt to make the other alien woman feel comfortable. "I understand your emotions are similar to Reina's, and how amorous attraction works -- I believe I have developed such feelings for Reina myself."

Reina's jaw dropped. It was hard enough for her to believe that Zav'ra was interested in her, but now her long-time friend and cohort Nyra was expressing her interest too? This was a lot to unpack. Though it wasn't her intent, Nyra had just made things much more awkward.

"I...um...what?" Reina stammered, confused and excited at the same time.

"I believe this is a result of spending so much time with you, Reina. E'Tani do not usually have romantic relationships or feelings, but I believe I have adapted some of your human thought processes, and I can say with certainty that I have developed an attraction to you."

Reina's mind was still reeling. "Wow. I'm not sure what to make of this."

Zav'ra was also floored by Nyra's confession, but, not angry at her possible romantic rival; she knew it was clearly an attempt to make her more comfortable, and she couldn't help but appreciate the sentiment. "Well, what do we do about this?"

Reina looked at Nyra, then at Zav'ra. She seriously wanted both women, but didn't want to make any decisions that would end in either women getting hurt. "I don't know. I can't make this decision right now..."

"This does not have to be a decision," Nyra said. "Miss Zav'ra -- are you familiar with the concept of polyamory?"

Both women stared at Nyra in disbelief. Was Nyra about to suggest what they think she was about to suggest?

"Nyra, what are you getting at?" Reina asked.

"Allow me to explain. Miss Zav'ra, I believe we both have strong sexual and romantic feelings for Reina, yes?"

Zav'ra nodded. "I know I do, yes."

"Well, I find you to be a very alluring woman yourself, Zav'ra. And I have found myself very much enjoying my time with you. I could see myself enjoying a romantic relationship with you," Nyra said. "If you'd agree to it, we could enjoy courtship with not only Reina, but one another as well."

Reina loved the idea. How could she not? Two gorgeous alien women in her bed was so much more appealing than having to choose just one. She looked at Zav'ra, seriously hoping she'd agree.

"I've enjoyed our time together too," Zav'ra said to Nyra. "And I find you to be a stunning woman as well. You've convinced me... Reina, your thoughts?"

Reina's smile could not be any brighter. This intergalactic voyage was turning out better than she could have possibly imagined. "Do you really need to ask?" She said, grabbing both women by the hand, leading them to her personal quarters.
